Who's your least favorite character and why?

My least favorite character would be Carl Dixon. I don't think he was any where NEAR as strong a character as James Evans. I really didn't care for Thelma's husband Keith either, his character wasn't developed very well at all in my opinion.

I agree with you Jeffalan! I didn't care for the role of Thelma's husband.
I agree, I did not care for florida's new husband carl.
I also wasn't a fan of Carl's character, mainly because James is my favorite character.
Also When Florida came back for the final season, what happened with Carl?

Least favorite character will always be Penny. The only reason Janet even got that role is because her last name is Jackson.

I didn't like Kim Fields mother Chip Fields who was Janet Jackson's mother on the show. She had no right to abuse Penny like that with the iron. I also didn't like Esther Rolle's ugly ass, damn she is so ugly & i felt bad John Amos had to kiss her all the time.

Thelma's husband Keith and Alderman Davis.

That is some funny shyt. While I didn't want to admit iit earlier, wellllll, the woman was ugly. Actually, I can remember reading it on another site. The poster called her the "ugliest woman in the history on sitcom TV". Another person responded with something like, "James is fairly nice-looking dude. Why did he choose her"? That's when I became a fan of this sitcomonline stuff
I have to agree with Zeke on that one. Sorry about the Knicks.:p

I'm sorry. Joning so much on Florida's looks, Keith was my least favorite character. And to honest with you, looking back over the shows, seeing what a silly big mouth JJ was, I'm tempted to put him down.

I didn't have a problem with any of the regulars, but I didn't care for Carl. In real life Florida wouldn't have taken up with a new man so soon. Funny, to the people who said Florida was ugly, I don't think there was anything wrong with her looks. Carl wasn't exactly handsome though.
Balderman Davis, Bookman's wife and Penny's mother were all really very unlikeable to me, but I guess they were supposed to be.

Actually Jimmie Walker has to be and still is the UGLIEST brother I have ever seen; damn!!!, I wonder how much the people of Good Times had to pay the girl to appear in the same episode with him and act to be his girlfriend...God, I think JJ is DISGUSTING, enough to make a girl pitch for the other team if ya know what I mean...

Poor Jimmie Walker.:(
Faizon Love is no Mr America either. He used to host a local video music show in the NYC/Jersey area in the late 80s. My aunt saw him on the screen and commented, "They let anyone on TV these days."

Trench-coat Lenny. He'd appear in the oddest places with this VERY long trench coat full of hot items he was trying to pitch to the Evanses but they (or Willona) would always dis him and make him go away and he never sold them anything. I just wish that they'd have made him go away the FIRST time forever because he wasn't funny and if VCRs had existed back then, definitely would have been FFWDed by me.

Until she adopted Penny, Willona got on my last nerve!! I hated how she always barged into the Evanses home all the time....she cheesed and shucked for the first two seasons, made me sick!!
J.J. was annoying up until James died.

I've never seen any of the post-James episodes (I'm checking the show out season by season from the library), but so far my least favorite is JJ. He was so loud and annoying, sometimes I almost wished James would use that belt on him!! It was funny to hear James yell, "Shut up, Junior!!"
Bookman.
Carl & Keith from the later episodes.

I did not like keith his character just did not fit also, I could not stand that dude Sweet Daddy Williams (I think that was his name) They were all so scared of him but he did not seem so tough to me.

Without a doubt Keith was my least favorite character on the show. The only thing he had going for him was that he did those impressions of Bill Cosby,Jerry Lewis, etc. but that's it.
I do disagree with the poster who said Sweet Daddy was annoying.Teddy Wilson (R.I.P.) was so funny especially when his "clients" didn't pay on time, his boys would dish out the penalty, and his style of dress.

Now that I've seen almost the whole series, I'll change my vote to Bookman.

Yeah, Bookman was a jerk! Especially when he nearly ruined Wilona's chances to adopt Penny. He was calling Wilona "kissy face." What a dummy!

That's right! He was a lousy building super and a lousy phony husband!
I thought it was also funny when Florida caught him makin' time with some chick at the bar she went to with Wilona after James died. Bookman used a phony name then again so he could score with that lady! LOL! He's lucky Florida didn't rat him out to Mrs. Bookman! :D

Florida could be so sanctimonious at times I wonder why she DIDN'T blab to Mrs. Bookman.
