Hollywood - In what appears to be a strategic move to bring fresh new faces on its network next season the WB has decided to cancel its 5 years fading family show Gilmore Girls.

Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino announced the cast this morning. "It is a sad day for all of us involved in the show", she said. "I really thought we would be getting a sixth season. I feel like we did a great job this season and we had many more stories to tell." Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel commented the cancellation as a "good news for [her] career" while Lauren Graham has yet to comment the decision.

To fill Gilmore Girls timeslot starting this fall the WB picked up "Crazy Baboons", a show by Birds Of Prey creator William Schmidt. The show revolves around teens living in the jungle in Africa and raising baboons. David Anders ("Alias") will star as head of the group.

Gilmore Girls two-hours series finale is expected to air May 24, 2005.

This has to be an April Fool's joke.

Even the show they say thats going to replace it sounds phony. Teens raising baboons. Unless of course its a new reality show.

Nice to see there are some folks in Hollywood with a sense of humor.

It's got to be an April Fool's Day joke.

The show will be around for at least one more season. Maybe two.
