Before anyone posts about this and starts with the bashing of Johnny Cochran because he got O.J. acquitted, there is something you should know about Johnny Cochran.

Johnny Cochran came into the public eye back in 1965, during the Watts Riots in Los Angeles. Cochran represented the wife of a man that was murdered by the L.A.P.D. because the man who was from the south was taking his wife to the hospital because she was in labor. The man thought that by putting a white cloth on to his car atena would signal that it was an emergency and that he could speed to get her to the hospital. As I said the L.A.P.D. beat and killed the man. It was Johnny Cochran who sued the city of L.A. and won the case for the mans widow.

So before you pass judgement on Johnny Cochran because of one case, you should know the facts about Johnny doing good and helping those in need.

Rest in Peace Johnny. Regardless of what other may say you were a good man.

He was one attorney celebrities and non-celebrities would love to have. He was a genius, though. :crying:

I just finished dinner when this story broke.

Mr. Cochran was truly at the top of his game and at one time was the best lawyer in the country. I've had the chance to witness in person Mr. Cochran work his stuff in the courtroom. He helped a LOT of poor folk, black and white, across the country who had been wronged for whatever reason and could not afford a lawyer. He would make room for them in his already tight schedule and fly to whatever state they were in and defend them in person, instead of having one of his many associates handle the case. A lot of people bashed him for defending OJ, but he was just doing the job he got paid to do. I mean, hey. . . he won. This man could not be outsmarted in the courtroom and very rarely lost a case in all his years as a trial lawyer. Denzel Washington even modeled his character in "Philadelphia" after Johnny.

RIP Johnny :(

Actually, a few LAPD officers who were bad cops beat that man. The LAPD may
have some problems, but by and large it is a department of good police officers.

My condolences are with Johnny Cochran and his family, however.
