Who is the bigger TV Icon? Ralph Kramden or his animated counterpart Fred Flintstone?

It is hard for me to choise. My heart says Kramden, but my head says Flintstone.

Ralph Kramden is the bigger TV icon, but Fred Flintstone is more recognizable, and much more significant in terms of pop culture.

There's a thin line between TV icon and pop culture icon.... this is a perfect example of it.

Ralph Kramden, without a doubt.
Jackie Gleason was one of the most popular TV stars during that era.

Definitely Ralph Kramden since "The Flintstones" were inspired from "The Honeymooners". Without The Honeymooners, there would be no Flintstones.

I'll always love Fred Flintstone, but Ralph came first.

I will vote for Ralph because he inspired Fred. They both crack me up though.

It seems to me that only real people can truly be considered true icons. Ralph and Fred are both fictional characters and therefore neither one is truly an icon. Jackie Gleason, on the other hand, who played Ralph and inspired Fred is a true T.V. and entertainment icon.

Little off topic. But in the first episode of the Jetsons, they used some Honeymooners catchphraises. In one sence, George says to a door "One of these days, bang right in the kisser. In another sence, Mr. Spacely says "I have a big mouth."
