I know Robert Stack is dead, but this show must come back. First of all, the show can't be too expensive to make. I wish FOX would pick it up and perhaps have it on Saturday night with America's Most Wanted and COPS. The show is not only very entertaining, but a service to the public as well. There are other shows that deal with unsolved murders, but nobody does it like UM. Anybody hear anything (what the producers are doing etc?

shows like american justice, forensic files, and cold case files seem pretty popular. i cant see why UN couldnt come back. even if it was on a cable network like A&E or court tv...
someone posted on here a whlie ago that christopher melloni would make a good host and I would have to agree 100%

I agree...I am a fan of Cold Case Files, American Justice, Forensic Files, City Confidential...the works. But NOBODY I MEAN NOBODY does it like Unsolved Mysteries!! I really would like the show to come back, but at the same time I think Robert Stack, may he rest in peace, is trully irreplacable! I don't know anybody who could do what he did the way he did it and have the same effect on the show! I guess I have mixed feelings about this...

America's Most Wanted could do a case that seems like you're watching the news (ie boring and unimportant), while could UM turn it into a very errie thriller. It's spooky how they do it.

I certanly hope so.They could get a new host but leave the music the same but it needs to come back because a lot of mysteries were solved with that show and criminals bought to justice and for the fans sake like us who would really like to see the show revived.

I noticed that! It's not as interesting nor as eerie or creepy or spooky as you said as Unsolved!!! Unsolved Mysteries was a completely different experience that no other show can touch in my opinion!

If Unsolved Mysteries were to come back with a new host and new stories, I think it's very important that it be shown back on NBC... if not, then CBS. Putting this show on a cable channel like Lifetime doesn't get the word out to as many people as it should.
It's also important that the show airs in the evening (like around 8:00) for obvious reasons...most importantly for people being home to see it.

yeah, plus Unsolved Mysteries actually helps law enforcement with these cases, while all the cases on Forensic Files, Cold Case etc. are already solved

Problem is, with Cops and AMW on Satuday nights, Fox would have no room for UM on that schedule. In order for the show to fit there, Cops and/or AMW would have to be either moved to another night or axed entirely, and neither is likely to happen anytime soon.

I have tried countless times to watch AMW, and I just can't. It just doesn't feel like anything close to Unsolved Mysteries.

AMW isn't meant for style, its pretty much more of solid hour crime stoppers type show
where unsolved mysteries present itself as a mystery thriller.john walsh isn't really trying to entertain he's trying to inform.its like trying to compare a gothic crime noir detective novel to a dick tracy comic.or comparing the crow to the punisher. same ideas different presentaions

I can't remember the details, but on the Bizarre Murders DVD, during the commentary for the Edward Howard Bell case, the directors of UM made some comments about how it is impossible for there to be a show like Unsolved Mysteries today. I can't remember what they said, but it was something about the budget for shows in that timeslot don't compare to what UM was getting in those days. I forgot what they said; I'll have to listen to it again, unless someone else on this board remembers their comments.
