He deserves a kick in the ass along with his dad. Whatever happened to a parent telling his kid to listen to his teacher and do as he is told? Anyway, maybe if he wasn't filing lawsuits he would have time to get his homework done.

I never had to do homework over the summer, and it sounds like a dumb idea, but not as dumb as sueing over it.

last night i missed family guy because i was doing chemistry homework until after midnight. i guess i should take my school to court and sue them and pass a state law that homework should not be assigned on nights there are good tv shows on.

It's his own fault for taking honors pre-calculus.

He ought to except responsibility for his own actions.

I don't get the whole summer homework thing anyway. At my school, each semester, we could have had different teachers if we wanted (that may have changed since the students no longer schedule their own classes), so carrying homework over was utterly pointless because you're not going to have homework from one teacher and then go to another one.

No wonder some people are totally unprepared for college...their HS experience is too different.

we have summer homework here for Honors English... there's only one teacher though. They were also able to assign homework over Christmas break. But yeah, that wouldn't work with other classes.

I was all for homework in highschool because the kids who did it,were ahead of the kids who couldn't be bothered.I reckon this kid had a case, the last thing someone wants to be doing in their holidays is school work. Its not supposed to be a stressful time.I remember getting holiday homework and assignments all the time.

Nope, we don't have the same teacher. We have to mail it to the teacher we'll have when school starts up again. We mail to the school and put the teacher's name on the envelope. It's always due about a week before school starts.

wow that's hardcore  My teacher didn't even care really. I was one of the few who actually had Pride and Prejudice read by the first day of school and everybody had about an additional two weeks to make our bookmarks for a book of our choice. He collected two things on the first day but they could really have been turned in whenever. I had to do a poem analysis but never even had to present it because we ran out of time. We didn't turn that in until about 3 weeks into the class. Couldn't you just take bring your homework to the school? I wouldn't want to waste postage on homework.

She wouldn't accept it.The deadline was July 28th. We could turn it in up until August 1st for a maximum grade of 50. After that, it wouldn't be accepted.

there were workbooks assigned over the summer at my old school, but just to win prizes and stuff so it was optional.

I've never had homework over the summer. During Christmas and Easter break I could expect it all the time. Essays, studying for finals, or an assignment in English, Biology, Social Studies, Psychology, etc. Over the holidays I can understand getting homework, but I don't understand getting homework over the summer. Unless it's for summer school.

Well, I think it's ridiculous to have summer homework, however I think it's even more ridiculous to sue over it. Writing a letter to the school board, sure that's fine, but suing...not worth it. I've never had summer homework but I will once I take AP Lit in 12th grade. In my school I have 4 classes one semester and 4 different ones the next, to it's difficult to assign homework to carry over.

All we have over the summer is Summer Reading, but I hate SUmmer Reading anyway.

I like to read for PLEASURE, and I dont like writing essays on what I read

It's his own fault for taking honors pre-calculus.

I completely agree!! I take honors class, but i don't have summer homework--that's stupid! But, honors classes require more work than other classes and if you want to live up to a higher standard than you have to make time for certain things. The kid should shut up, do his homework, and stop taking honors classes because obviously he can't take the amount of work!!!

The suit says that "it gave him alot of undue stress" and "they are subjected to increasing pressure to perform to ever higher standards." Oh, for the love....!! It's called preparing for the real world, idiot!!

Quit your bitching and do your freaking homework!! :yousuck: :usuck:
