From TV Guide online:
With the arrival of two new faces, Wisteria Lane looks like the Great White Way. Harriet Sansom Harris, a 2002 Tony winner for "Thoroughly Modern Millie", and Roger Bart, a nominee for "The Producers" in 2001, hit the block as Mrs. Huber's impossible sister and Bree's very possible love interest respectively. With all due respect, they're just in time. Although neither gets to sing, they do add to the drama as La Huber's "absence" finally takes center stage and a frisky Bree finds a way to stick it to Rex, without having to strap on the stilletos.
From ABC.com
Edie organizes a neighborhood search for the missing Mrs. Huber, just as the absent busybody's sister (guest star Harriet Sansom Harris) arrives on Wisteria Lane. Meanwhile, Bree resigns herself to her marital state and asks an attractive pharmacist (Tony Award-winning actor Roger Bart) on a date; Susan's ex, Karl (guest star Richard Burgi), suddenly reappears in her life; Lynette fears that Tom is attracted to the new nanny (guest star Marla Sokoloff); and Gabrielle sinks to new depths - she gets a job.

In the promo aired for this episode during Lost it said that some new people will be coming to DH (I think it said "some new housewives") and then it showed everybody in the woods and then Bree coming out and saying "they found her body!" (I'm assuming Mrs. Huber)
I've already spoiled the episode enough for myself by reading that Gabrielle gets a job (is it me or has somebody called her Gabriella? I swear that that's what I thought her name was....)
I hope we get an update soon on Mrs. Soliz's condition...if she's gone from a few more episodes I'd might figure that she's dead. She's probably still in that coma

I saw the promo that aired after the pilot on 12/26. It goes:
Gabrielle singing: Start spreading the news
Announcer: Two weeks from tonight, begin the New Year with an all-new Housewives. It started with a woman that went to a closet, she had 4 friends, and 1 nosy neighbor
Edie: Martha's missing
Announcer: These are their secrets
Rex: You didn't tell them about...
Bree: Your adultery? No
Announcer: That led to 5 golden globe nominations. This is the show that will expose the truth
Lynette: You have the hots for our nanny
Announcer: and dig up even more dirt
Edie: They found a body
Everyone gasps or has shocked looks
Looks exciting. :)

The opening scene with Martha's sister was very very very bizarre.
The whole "They found a body" thing in the preview was overblown. Susan said something about Mike told her he loved her and it caused Bree to gasp and Lynette and Edie thought that that meant they had found a body.

The whole last few minutes was just great.
Bree telling Andrew to respect his father, and then hooking up with that guy(what's his name?)
Karl telling Susan he wants her back and then she going to Mike's and starting to love on him
Lynette hiring a new nanny after Tom admitting he was attracted to the current one
And last but not least... the body being found by the hiker and his dog at the very end.
Can't wait til next week. :)

Didn't end on much of a cliffhanger...at least not until the VERY end.
What a beautiful Golden Retriever at the end! (That's the breed of dog that mine is! )
Gabrielle is kinda selfish...she barely even worked!
The maid's quick shots were funny! :)
Great episode! OMG Bree had some great lines "I plan on having an embylism, and dying young" "I am keeping my eyes on the horizon, please tell me if I'm about to step on a body part" :rotflmao: Bree stole the show.
Edie is such a bitch, I wanted to smack her, I hope one of these days Susan does, she's way overdue to do so ;)
Susan and Mike are so cute, I was surprised when he told her "I love you" but it was great.
Gabby getting her dress caught on the turntable
Mrs. Huber's sister  what a piece of work, she puts her sister to shame

BTW, you guys can still vote for DH as best new Drama for the People's Choice Awards, the voting is still going on :)

Based on the preview for next week, it looks like Susan has to make a deal with Edie. Something about secret journals and Mrs. Huber.
It also appears Bree is teaching George how to use a gun(I wonder on who!!! )

Excellent episode. I hope Mike doesn't get in trouble for this crap Paul did. And congrats to DH for winning Favorite New TV Drama at the PCAs! Lost should have won too, both are fine dramas. They should have put DH in the comedy category, so both shows could have won. Too bad Savages didn't win for Best New TV Comedy, they gave it to AfterFriends instead.

Mmmm I liked it, except for one major thing that I knew I wouldn't like.
GEORGE!!!!!!!! :cuss:
God, he pissed me off so bad. SO BAD.
I loved Mrs. Huber's sister and everything else about the episode.
Was that really Nicollette and Teri singing? If so, they both sing very well :D

Yes... George is Bree's new "lover". Carl is Susan's ex(Julie's dad), and the one Edie was hugging on while they were at the singing event.

Preliminary ratings for last night:
9pm: Desperate Housewives #1 in timeslot and night.
15.1/22 Fast National Rating, 17.8/24 in the overnights, 25.16 million viewers and a 11.2/24 among adults 18-49. 2nd place in the hour was a battle between Law & Order: CI and 24, posting a 8.6/12 and a 8.4/12.
The 8 and 9pm hours ABC dominated. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was #1 in everything last night in its slot as well. 11.2/16 Fast Nationals, 11.5/15 Overnights; Viewers: #1 19.98 million; A18-49: #1 8.6/20.
America's Funniest Home Videos was below normal last night due to FOX's NFL playoff coverage. Boston Legal at 10pm was a close second its timeslot and first among adults 18-49.
As for the PCA's, yes DH picked up an award, but the PCA's are not what they used to be. The real test will be the Golden Globes and the Emmys for DH -- and I'm sure DH will win those too. The PCA's did average ratings wise -- 4th in the 9pm hour and 3rd in the 10pm hour.
ABC really won the night overall, but due to FOX's NFL coverage for the 7pm half hour, ratings for FOX were inflated.

Great episode! It was nice that Andrew finally went on his mom's side. I was not really expecting that. I like George, although I think he'll be gone in a few eps. I hate Rex, but he had some good lines. "Please, you're dating my wife, call me Rex." When Susan went up to sing New York, New York that had me laughing so hard because she was yelling at her ex husband at the same time. I must say that I was kind of happy that they didn't find the body until the end. I was wondering why in the commercial they made Bree looking all happy and stuff. I was kind of like WTF? It makes a lot more sense now.
I loved last night's episode! Harriet Sansom Harris is a great addition to the cast, for as long as she'll be here, and Felicia seems to be an oddball lol
I really really like the younger actors and actresses on DH, especially Andrea Bowen (Julie) and Shawn Pyfrom (Andrew). In the last few episodes, they've been pretty great in their scenes. Shawn was awesome in the scene where Bree told Andrew about Rex's adultery.

Once again, a good episode.
I love the lines they give Bree, especially "It's a romantic date with a single attractive man, and I intend to french the hell out of him." LMAO.
Overall, it was a pretty good episode.

Desperate Housewives
It's ironic that on the night this show wins a People's Choice Award for Favorite New Drama, ABC airs what has to be DH's funniest episode yet. There are usually several clever quips, but I was laughing out loud at Susan's bitter rendition of "New York, New York" aimed at ex-husband Carl, who she had just found out was a serial groper. "I wanna be a part of it," she sang, "New York, New York! These vagabond shoes — You're an ass, you know that? — are longing to stray."
The only funnier moment was during Mrs. Huber's missing-person search when Susan told the girls that Mike had recently said "I love you," and then Lynette's "Oh, my god!" reaction was misinterpreted by the other volunteers as a grisly discovery. Brilliant stuff. Too bad though, about Mike getting framed for Mrs. Huber's disappearance. Kind of a damper.
