Phylicia Rashad ("The Cosby Show") has filed for divorce from her husband, sportscaster Ahmad Rashad, according to the New York Daily News. Phylicia, 52, filed the papers Thursday at Manhattan's Supreme Court on the grounds of "abandonment." However, the split is reportedly amicable.
Ahmad, 51, was a star receiver for the National Football League's Minnesota Vikings before joining NBC as a sportscaster. The couple, who were introduced by Bill Cosby, became engaged in 1985 after Ahmad popped the question to Phylicia on live national television on Thanksgiving Day. The couple has a 14-year-old daughter, Phylea.
Phylicia played Bill Cosby's wife on both NBC's "The Cosby Show," the most watched TV show in the mid-'80s, and CBS' "Cosby."
