Hey, everybody.
Wow, I've missed you guys! How's everything going here at SO? Hope all is well. I have been swamped ever since high school started, and I feel horrible that I haven't had any time to get over here and chat with you all.
I just dropped in to see what's been going on over here, and I noticed that there's a bunch of newbies who have joined the boards. I knew I'd never be able to respond to all their posts, so I decided to just introduce myself here.
For those of you who don't know me, my name's Lauren, I'm 14, and I'm from New Jersey. I've been an ML fan for a few years now, but I'm just as obsessed as the next guy. :p It's so great to see so many new posters...the more, the merrier!
I'm gonna go try to respond to as many old posts as I can, so if you see topics from 1942 pop back up to the top, have no fear. :D
hey lauren. i have been wondering where you have been. hope you have been doing well.
Hi everyone  Welcome and a happy new year
Just an hour and half till we have 5 hours of Moonlighting on UK tv, how happy am I?

Hi!
Well I presume I'm one of the new people that you're referring to so . . .
My name is Emma, I'm 16, I live in the UK and I've been addicted to Moonlighting since I discovered it at the beginning of October.
And that's about as interesting as I get, really :D

Hey, SweetCakes. Nice to meet ya! The majority of the "new people" I'm talking about aren't really "new"...I just don't know them yet. :D As of now, you're probably more familiar with SO than I am. How long have you been posting?
Just wanted to give one giant hello to all my old ML buddies who I haven't talked with...bry, Cindy, Taz, Carina, Steph, Mul, Tamm, and everybody else who stuck around after I went on my little hiatus. It's great to know that everybody's going strong here. I'm finding it a little hard myself; the absence of ML in my life is really getting me frustrated, but it's nice to know that you guys are still hanging around.
Lots of love,
Lauren
Hi Lauren,
Hope to see you posting lots again soon

hi there everyone
I'm new here, and a new Moonlighting fan. It's nice to find a little fanbase here.
Hi there Emma - just thought I'd say hi cause I'm from your neck of the woods. Used to live in Cardiff myself til a couple of years ago.
My name is Gemma, and I'm a teacher in a comprehensive school in South Wales. I just recently starting watching Moonlighting - it's so addictive!
So that's me. Hope to get to know some of you all soon.

Hi Emma!
I was just flicking over the other weekend when I should have been writing reports and came across it on abc1. Can't get enough now!
What school do you go to? I did one of my teaching practices in Llanishen High as I did my teacher training in UWIC.

NO WAY! I'm in my second year of teaching now, so it was about two years ago. I teach Welsh. Mrs Sweet was my mentor. Is she still there?

Yeah! Bizzare! It's not the most popular subject I know, but hey, maybe I taught you! ARGH! Weird! What year are you in? I remember the Welsh classrooms up there were a bit naff and the department was a bit all over the place. Like there was one classroom in an old science lab and another two outside in the terrapins. Do you take Welsh? I know you have to up til GCSE, but I think they had a 6th form there, don't they? I used to like the head of Welsh, Jo Harry. She was a bit more laid back than the others.

Wow, spooky conincidences in Wales.
This is so great, all these new UK fans. I was so happy when abc1 started :D

Thank you Cindy and Kismet. People here seem great. I was talking to Emma (Sweetcakes) because I did my teacher training in her school.
Cindy, I know this is the wrong thread, but I read somewhere else that you were feeling bad about 'spoling' the show for new fans with the clips you have on your site - please don't, because I may have not gotten into Moonlighting if it wasn't for your site and the clips on it. It's a fabulous site - thank you for all your hard work on it.

Hey, Gem, Mrs Harry used to be my form tutor :D
But then she got pregnant (typical! :p), went on maternity leave and now she only works part time.
I'm in Year 11 and I took full course Welsh for GCSE. I'm considering doing it for A Level but I'm a bit undecided about that at the moment . . .
And sorry to the rest of you if you don't have a clue what we're on about

Hi Emma, she's a had a baby?! Wow! I had no idea - she's not your form tutor anymore then? I'm a year 11 form tutor and I love my form class. Is she still head of department if she's only part time? Who teaches you Welsh? Good on you for doing full course! We don't have many in our school who chose to do full course. Are you enjoying it? Definately, I think you should do A-level! Go for it! Are you staying in Llanishen to do them or going to college? A-level Welsh is usually loads better cause the classes are really small and you get to do more interesting stuff like literature and watch films. Anyway, with the AS levels now, you can always do the first year and drop it after that if you want to.
(sorry everyone, for the off topic-ness)
By the way, do you know what time Moonlighting is on abc today? For some reason the listings aren't coming up for me and abc isn't in my tv guide.

Moonlighting's on ABC1 at 1.55 :)
I'm not sure if Mrs Harry is head of Welsh or not, truth be told.
Mrs Young teaches me Welsh (you probably know her as Miss Cole - she got married over the Christmas holidays). I like her :D

01-30-2005, 08:34 AM
Yeah, she was Miss Cole when I was there. I liked her too. I knew she was getting married. You must have been in year 9 when I was there. I think I only taught one year nine class and that was Matthews ( can't remember his surname, but I know he left at the end of that year). He didn't teach you in year nine by any chance? It would be too freaky if I'd taught you! I was a really crap teacher then though!
I thought it was on at 1.55. I don't know why my tv guide isn't working, but it's really annoying. I'm going to go and write some more reports before it comes on. Speak later!

I think Matthew must be Mr Tyler, because he was the only male Welsh teacher and he did leave at the end of Year 9 (for me).
I wasn't in his class though ... that would have been too weird!

Yeah, that's him. Thank goodness you weren't in his class to see what a crap teacher I was back then! lol. Now we've cleared that up we can get back to some more on topic posts. I'm sure this conversation has become very tedious for everyone else!
