Milbourne Drysdale.

Surely it's Daisy Moses (i.e. "Granny"). My choice for runner-up would be the deliciously self-centered Margaret Farquahar Drysdale.

Well Jethro was the scholar of the group, he made it all the way to the 6th grade. He also thought that this qualified him to become a Doctor. But the way he put away food was priceless, in fact he needed a picnic basket just to carry his lunch!

Jed who was the voice of reason throughout the series and
had to put up with both the antics of his kin and the greedy
manipulations of Drysdale.
Also Ellie Mae.:)

Well Irene Ryan can't be overlooked....what can you say about feisty Granny? She was superb. But I also enjoyed watching Mrs. Drysdale...any episode with her in it is usually a lot of fun to watch. Jane Hathaway was cool too. :)

My favorite is Cousin Pearl.
I like the episodes with her. I wish she was bought back for more appearances in later seasons. It probably conflicted with her role on Petticoat Junc.

I liked Cousin Pearl as well! The day Mr Brewster continued to propose at the Bug Tustle Movie Theatre where she played "Pianni" and he pushed his acting ability too far, despite advice from Jed, nearly killed me!

Me, I like Granny. Hell, you gotta love any woman who can doctor you with a mustard poltice, cook possum innards and make it tasty (not an easy task, I assure you!), distill her own "rhumatiz medicine" (also known as "Tennesee Lightning") and not get busted by the Man, and "rassle" and defeat all comers, from Mrs. Drysdale to "The Boston Strong Girl", yet constantly reaffirms her faith in The Lord. A better woman you'll find nowhere else!

Is anyone else here hungry for some "possum"? lol

As far as a "character" I would say Milburn Drysdale. I think Irene Ryan was certainly the best at acting her part on the show (although they all were perfect at their parts), and I think some of the funniest shows revolved around Jethro's troubles - especially double-knot spying.

Jethro's funny and a great character. and real sweet and cute
Elly may is like me. with the critters and the wrestling and he's a good character as well.

Jed because I really Love his set of values and his dancing
and i love the fact that all of them were millionares and they didn't let all the money got to their heads.

All the main characters were absolutely perfect in their roles. Jed's laid back humor was outstanding, and Jethro's over-the-top ridiculousness was a riot, as was Granny's. But my favorite of all was Sonny Drysdale - he was just too funny - wish he could have been in more episodes.

I would say Jethro. He is much funnier to me now than when I watched the show in the 60s. The episodes where he is the Hollywood movie producer or a "double-naught" spy are especially good. I also get a kick out of Mrs. Drysdale, the perfect snob!

He danced in Captin January with Shirley temple.

He looked sooo different in the movie breakfast at tifany's. I almost didn't recognise him.

That's partly why he was reluctant at first to play Jed Clampett, because he had been cast as a "mountain man" in that, and many other pictures and shows.
