I remember "The Small One" very well. My parents took me to the movies for the very first time to see "The Small One" when I was an infant. That brings back a lot of memories for me when Disney movies became my first obsession.

Small one? I thought that was the movie we had about an elf who was little, and then he snuck onto the sleigh, and Santa ran out of wrapped presents, so small one got toys he had made out of his pocket and took his socks off and put them by the fireplace, thus starting the christmas tradition...then they changed his name to blue toes because they turned blue from him sitting in the cold without socks

Not this movie, the other movie was Disney's "The Small One". Here is the plot:

A young boy must part with his beloved donkey, named "Small One". When he takes him into town to sell him, the only people who want to buy him are cruel. When all hope seems lost and small one leads his master back to the tanners shop where he is willing to sacrifice his life. A miracle happens, and he is bought by Joseph to carry Mary to Bethlehem.
