I noticed in "A Man for Marilyn" (which is the episode where Grandpa tries to make a husband out of a frog), Herman makes some uncharacteriscally mean remarks about Marilyn. Of course they always talk about her unfortunate looks, but I thought the comment about "finally unloading her" seemed a bit out of place and mean spirited for Herman to make. Just a thought...

His exact words were...

"We're all so happy for you my dear, now that we've finally unloaded you."

There was kind of a shift in the writing and the characters as the show went on, for better or worse.
I thought some of the final episodes, the writing had gotten even funnier. But the characters did lose alot of their spooky creature image that they had in the beginning. I'm in the minority of people who think Beverly Owen played the part better.

I think it was said in a "meant to be funny manor". I don't know how anyone can find fault with the clasic Munters!
