Remember the UM segment about the 1991 disappearance of Dede Rosenthal? She was the woman who supposedly went into a local bar a year after she disappeared. The case aired on UM during the 1992-93 season (if I remember correctly).
In 1995, a man named Charles Reddish confessed to killing Rosenthal, even though her body has never been found. Nonetheless, he was convicted of killing her and sentenced to death.
The recent article at the link above this post announces that Reddish's conviction in the case has been overturned, but he will be retried. He is already serving two life terms for unrelated crimes (including the murder of his girlfriend).
The article briefly mentions that the Rosenthal case was profiled on UM. Read the article for more details.
