Actually he never narrated. You had to read in silence. Check out the first season DVD. He never says a word, just thinks and smiles.

I just finished watching my recently purchased dvd of Doogie Howser, M.D. season 1 and had to inform you that yes...it is true....NPH simply kicks back, relaxes, nods, smiles, and types...he does not narrate along with his jounral entry! Ah I love this show! So glad it finally came out on dvd!
Hope that helps!~Kris :newbie:

Anybody else wonder, with Doogie being a genius and all, why he typed so damn so slow on his pc keyboard? At the end of the episodes I'm reading those computer journal entries waiting for him to catch up to my reading.

 I always laugh when people complain about this. I also feel that he types too slow. I guess maybe the producers figured that since kids would be watching, they'd slow it down a bit so they could keep up and read along?

Maybe he just took his time to think about what he was saying.
Or maybe Neil Patrick Harris wasn't that good at typing.

Neither is my dad or uncle, for example. I just happened to be an experience typist and I can tell you...there were some flaws in the writing, usually with misspelling a simple word. If you don't believe me, check it out..
