On the Pop-up Brady thing last night they said Susan thought her family was "much cooler" than the Bradys and she resented being in her character's shadow.

I would suppose that any family where 9 people have to share 2 bathrooms, mow Astroturf, wear nerdy clothes, & act well Bradyish would have a reduction in their Coolness rating. Brady Bunch unless you're a kiddie or kid at heart is good for the camp factor not because it was the cool thing or in thing to watch in the 70s; they had the Partridge Family for that (PF came on after BB in the original showing).

Also I would hope & pray that any person thinks their family in real life is more cool than a TV family. I mean Brady Bunch is Righteous but Come On! It is however a good family show that can lead to one's real life family being cool to you. Even for Cousin Oliver.

Now as to the part about Susan Olsen being in Cindy's shadow this is easily explained. Typecasting. A syndrone whereas Dingbats in Hollywood want to cast you as the same type of character as your latest successful role, in this case being Cindy on the Brady Bunch.

This is why someone like Jessica Biel of 7th Heaven for instance posed in a magazine as a "sexy girl" & generally just acted the opposite of the 7th Heaven stereotype (goody two shoes). So that she wouldn't be permanently cast as a Goody Goody Morman type but rather so's she could have diverse roles. Amen &

Amen.
