Angie Dickinson was certainly very entertaining to watch (and she was pretty sexy for an over 40 year old at the time!!!). BTW, Undercover I notie you dig Ironside. That was a cool series that not too many people remember. I'd take Ironside over Perry Mason anytime.

Ironisde is one of my favorite shows, and it is definitely my favorite show that Raymond Burr did...

There is a website for it that is pretty good, I'll have to look it up. it has a lot of photos from the series. That show was pretty consistent quality-wise for an 8 year old show and it was well filmed with good location filming in San Francisco. That picture on your avatar is from either the pilot movie or one of the very earliest episodes.

You are right about the photograph, it was taken during the pilot of Ironisde back in 1967; I recently won a tape of two episodes of Ironside from the shows first season; I could not resist, since the guest stars are Jack Lord and Bill Bixby...:)

The outfits and Barbara Anderson's hairdo were the clues. In the first season for some strange reason the male characters almost always wore the same clothes. Yet Barbara Anderson was always decked out in the latest fashions. She looked good, don't get me wrong, but was totally out of somebody's fantasy as far as being a realistic looking lady cop. She looked more like a beach bunny or a sorority girl. The character was also dumbed down a bit during the 2nd season for some reason. I believe when the series started in 1967 there were no other lady cops in Tv series.

I think that was very common back in the 1960s, for women, even if they are playing a police officer, to look like they just stepped out of the pages of Vogue magazine; I think Angie Dickinson was the catalyst for women characters in a police/detective based show, not to be overly glamourous, and to show that woman can handle themselves indepentently in a male dominated field, like police or detective work...

Yeah Pepper kicked butt big time in this series and she didn't look like she was worrying about breaking a nail. The woman in Mod Squad didn't look like a glamour girl but then again she didn't look very tough either, rather like a straight up hippie flower child chick.

The Mod Squad was a head of it's time; and actress Peggy Lipton epitomize the "flower child" look, that was very popular for young people of the late 1960s and early 1970s; it was the polar opposite look of the overly glamourous look that majority of women of that era were still accustomed to.....
