What did you think??
I personally loved it, my favorite of the series so far.
Does anybody else have the urge to slap the neighbor (who wasnt in this episode) that is going to blackmail Susan??

I loved it too.
The story with the little girl who caught them kissing was great. And even though the getting-locked-out-of-your-house-naked bit was rather forced, it still worked. My favorite character has got to be Brie (sp?) - the Martha Stewart Bitch. Did anybody else laugh when she said that thing about her husband at the dinner?? I know it was supposed to be serious, but I laughed my head off.

I laughed too, one of the funniest things Ive ever heard.
Is it just be, or is Susan's husband a dumbass for leaving her for that blonde girl??
Total downgrade.
I agree, the best so far. I was  when Lynnette gave her kids cookies, so her husband would have a hard time watching the kids(and would know what she goes through everyday).
I wanna bitchslap the neighbor. Urgggg
I was right about their being human remains in the chest Mary Alice's husband threw in the water

Good episode. I probably liked last week's a little more, but this one was good. I didn't even notice until after it was all over that Nicolette Sheridan's character wasn't in this ep. The blackmailing little girl was funny. It'll be interesting next year where the Emmy nominations go, drama or comedy, but Marcia Cross will definitely be there.

When Bree said that I was like OH MY GOD, she didn't just say that at a dinner party, but it served him right

And then having them move!
I think the husband may be the one who wrote the note.

Oh good, she isn't like the cheese. Yes, I agree - it was very low of her. Which is what made the moment so awkward yet so delightfully funny. The fact that I knew I wasn't supposed to laugh made me want to laugh even harder - kinda like when something funny happens in church.

Ive gotten some character names down.
Susan is Teri Hatcher
Bree is Marcia Cross
the other two will take me a while (is it just me, or up to this point has Felicity Huffman's role been completely useless?)

Are you serious??
Bree is a f*cking psycho (it makes for great TV.... but if this were real life she should have been the one to shoot herself).
She's completely insane, and the husband is right for leaving her. And forcing him to lie at the dinner party (another thing she forced upon him) wasn't fair.

I don't agree with anything she has done (so far), but I still enjoy the character.

I'm damn serious, the husband is an ******* IMO. He's blaming their marriage falling apart solely on Bree, sorry bud, it takes two to ruin a marriage, I doubt it's solely her fault.
Yeah the lying thing wasn't right, but it wasn't like she was asking him to cover up a crime.

That's the point.... its not a crime, he shouldnt have to cover it up.
Of what we've seen so far.... the husband has done absolutely nothing wrong. This may change down the road, it has only been three episodes, but as of now, Bree is completely to blame.
And actually, one person can ruin a marriage.
Sticking to DH.... Susan's ex cheated on her.... and ruined the marriage.
I'm willing to bet something traumatic happened to Bree when she was younger, that's why everything in her life has to be perfect.

Maybe, but Im not sure.
Her husband has talked about how free she was when they first met. Maybe something traumatic happened when she was older.
Or maybe she watched Martha Stewart too much.

Hmmm possibly, something could have happened like maybe she was raped or something.

Oh I hope it's not rape.
What I think happened is that she felt constrained by her role as a housewife. The only way she could make herself feel worthwhile was to be the BEST housewife and the BEST wife and have the BEST family ever. She's basically trying to fill the void in her life by taking perfectionism to a psychotic level. By threatening to walk out on her and the family, her husband is essentially threatening to destroy her entire existence. I think that's the dynamic behind her behavior.

This show is just too good to be true. Every episode gets better and better. Yeah, that line by Bree was classic. This show has a little bit of everything, lots of suspense, comedy, drama.

When Bree said that, I nearly died laughing. Probably the best one liner of the season on any tv show. She is the series break-out character.
I've read on fametracker.com that one of the characters will turn out to be gay. Here's my theory:
It's Bree's husband. He's not giving her any because he's not interested, and in turn she turns colder and colder, hoping that by being the "perfect wife," she can convert him.
Just a thought...
This and Lost are easily becoming my two favorite tv series, but this still beats Lost

God, it really is fascinating...

I've been thinking that too, trying to enjoy it while it lasts. The show will, like all soaps, turn to other storylines, of course. Hopefully, those new storylines will keep up that quality that we've seen so far.

I think we'll be allright for awhile, the writer that writes for DH also wrote for Melrose Place and that ran 7 years, and look how long Dallas and Knots Landing lasted :)

It has to be a kid in that box, I am completely convinced now.
From Saturday repeat:

And the 3rd episode last night:

-Rating Breakdown:
Although game 4 of The Major League Baseball Championship Series led Fox to a nightly victory in the overnights (10.4/15) and total viewers (14.79 million), the home of Desperate Housewives, ABC, remained No. 1 among adults 18-49. Desperate Housewives ranked first for the evening with a 15.5/21 in the overnights, 20.59 million viewers and a 9.4/21 among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. Comparably, this is almost equal to its debut two weeks earlier. Take a look at Desperate Housewives versus NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent, which like parent show Law & Order, now has to settle for the leftovers:
Sunday 9 p.m.
Desperate Housewives (ABC)
Overnights: 15.5/21 (#1), Viewers: 20.59 million (#1), A18-49: 9.4/21 (#1)
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC)
Overnights: 9.5/13 (#3), Viewers: 11.53 million (#3), A18-49: 4.0/ 9 (#3)
Note: Total viewers and adults 18-49 are based on the fast affiliate ratings.
Although Desperate Housewives lead-in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (#3: 9.7/14; Viewers: #2, 15.05 million; A18-49: #1, 6.5/16) remains solid, lead-out Boston Legal is anything but. Take a look at Boston Legal versus NBC's competing Crossing Jordan with percent change from their lead-ins.
Sunday 10 p.m.
Crossing Jordan (NBC)
Overnights: 9.4/15 (#2), Viewers: 12.54 million (#2), A18-49: 4.6/11 (#3t)
-Percent Change Out of Law & Order: Criminal Intent

Boston Legal (ABC)
Overnights: 8.5/12 (#3), Viewers: 11.60 million (#3), A18-49: 4.6/11 (#3t)
-Percent Change Out of Desperate Housewives
Overnights: -45, Viewers: -44, Adults 18-49: -51
Earlier in the evening, CBS' combination of an NFL Football overrun (14.0/23; A18-49: 6.7/20) and the first half of 60 Minutes (11.9/18; A18-49: 4.1/12) won the 7 p.m. hour, followed by baseball on Fox (9.7/16; A18-49: 4.5/13), NBC's Dateline (5.8/ 9; A18-49: 1.8/ 5), America's Funniest Home Videos on ABC (5.0/ 7; A18-49: 2.5/ 7), and Steve Harvey's Big Time on the WB (1.9/ 3; A18-49: 0.8/ 2). 60 Minutes from 7:30-8:30 p.m. averaged a 12.6/19 in the overnights.
At 8 p.m., NBC's American Dreams remains more a nightmare than a dream with a distant fourth-place finish in the overnights (5.1/ 7), viewers (6.28 million) and adults 18-49 (2.1/ 5). Better received was CBS hit Cold Case, with an 11.8/16 in the overnights (#2), 14.16 million viewers (#3) and a 3.4/ 8 among adults 18-49 (#3) from 8:30-9:30 p.m. Over at the WB, Charmed is losing steam with a 4.2/ 6 in the overnights 19 percent below the comparable year-ago night (5.2/ 8 on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003).
As bad as the WB's Tarzan was last fall in the Sunday 9 p.m. hour, a series-low 2.0/ 3 for Jack & Bobby in the overnights at 9 p.m. (with a 0.9/ 2 among adults 18-49) could end up the lowest rated show of the week. Although the WB has boldly renewed the series for the remainder of the season, something tells me it will cut back on the episode order.
Also in the loser's circle last night was CBS made-for, Perfect Strangers, at a 5.7/ 8 in the overnights, 7.48 million viewers and a 2.0/ 5 among adults 18-49 in primetime.

No way! Lynette's husband is as straight as an arrow I think. I'm pretty sure it's either 1) Rex, 2) Mary Alice's son, or 3) Mary Alice's husband.
I was so pleased with this episode! Very, very good stuff. Oh and it seems that it beat out the Yankees/Red Sox game last night according to Nielson ratings -- isn't that right?

Episode 3 was wonderful! I loved every minute of it.
The relationship between Gabrielle and that little girl is so cute in an odd way, lol.
"Rex cries after he ejaculates."
That line was perfect. I cracked up so badly when she said that. Bree is definitely my favorite character.
I think Rex shares some blame in the dissolution of his marriage to Bree. I mean, sure, it's annoying when she's constantly chipper, but it's also annoying when he's crabby all the time. Also, I thought it was wrong of him to tell everyone about the counseling. I wouldn't have minded if he had objected to Bree's plea to keep it hush-hush, but he promised her he wouldn't tell yet he went ahead and did.
Does anyone else think that maybe Mr. Mary Alice is covering up for MaleMaryAliceJr? That kid is creepy...maybe he's psychotic like dear old dad and is more responsible for Mary Alice's death then his dad.
I did miss Mrs. Huber aka Mrs. KravitzReincarnated though. Edie, on the other hand, I didn't miss at all.
Another GREAT episode! Every episode is better than the last!
Bree's line was absolutely the funniest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. No lie.
I think that the character who turns out to be gay will be Gabrielle's husband. I read a while ago that there's a rumor that he'll be gay. Maybe the rumor turned out to be true?
Anyway, this is definitely the best show on television at this point and I hope it goes no where but up!

The ratings for this show are phenominal. After 3 episodes, it's the second highest rated drama in adults 18-49 (trailing "CSI" by just 1.3 ratings points) and it's the number four series in viewers, just slightly behind "CSI Miami" and "Without A Trace." The 9.4 rating it drew in adults on Sunday is just 1 point shy of the peak of "Millionaire" in the timeslot 4 years ago.

I did think having Bree pack for her husband was strange. If I was mad at my wife the last thing I'd do was have her pack my clothes. I get a paper bag and get out as fast as I could. She is so forceful and he's so wimpy. They must come to the middle. I felt sorry for Mary Alice's son. I think he wanted someone to remember his mother. His father shut him out when Bree came by to invite him and his father to the memory dinnter.

LOL@that little girl blackmailing Gabrielle into buying her a bike when she doesn't know how to ride a bike hahahahahahahaha. Bree is a trip. Remember when she was messing with the bed inside the couch that her husband was sleepin on when he went upstairs to their bedroom? She made the nails inside the bed stand up so his back would bother him. I said she is somethin else. Terri Hatcher's ex husband's new girlfriend looks like a teenager LOL.

Yeah, I think the "girlfriend" had braces!!! LOL I have a friend who her hubby dumped her for a young-young girl (and she had braces). I swear, watching this show is like watching my life sometimes...If the things I have seen in my life show up on this show, it will have a long, long run. :)
Oh, and this friend...well, she took all of her hubby's precious tools (most were in a box since he worked long hours at the office), and tossed them all into their swimming pool. :D
