I have noticed in trend in DVD releases. some shows are being released on or near milestone anniversaries. '227' released close to the 20th anniversary, One Day at a Time will be released near their 30th and so on. anybody else see this trend.

I Love Lucy: The Complete Sixth Season was released on May 2, four days before the final first-run episode (May 6, 1957) of the series, 49 years earlier.

If everything goes like it should The Mary Tyler Moore Show's last box set will be released on the 30th anniversary of the last show. Maybe not the exact day but the same year.

I think a lot of it happens to be coincidence also. As for it being released on the exact same day, it's definitely coincidence, since that day has to fall on a Tuesday. So the people in charge of when to release then aren't thinking about that. So the Good Times and the Cheers is a coincidence. Pretty impressive though.
