I am not about bashing black sitcoms, I'm all in support of them. But I have a problem with the story here. It is too unrealistic. You got the principal and secretaries walking around with short skirts and teachers worrying about their personal lives at work. C'mon now, who's setting the pace here? No wonder Romeo and Bullethead were misguided because look who were in charge of leading them! And Cedric as a coach? I ain't about to go there. Steve Harvey should have stuck with,"Me and the Boys" because that was a better sitcom, not to mention more positive.

Me and the Boys was a much better series, I agree and I agree with the immature behaviors of the teaching staff. Harvey wanted a hit show so he let these elements be in the series. Don't forget that Me and the Boys was a top 20 show and ABC still cancelled it.
As for the miniskirts I remember Denise Nicholas and Karen Valentine wearing micro miniskirts on Room 222 in the early 1970s. Talk about unrealistic, their skirts were so short at times that they could barely bend over without their panties showing. And not one student or the principal ever commented. And THAT show was played much more dramatically than Steve Harvey.

Since i never saw Me and the Boys, how was the character in Me and the Boys different from the Steve HighTop character?

His personality wasn't that different, although since he was the father of 3 he was more mature in his behavior and demeanor and he came off as being much smarter than his sons who were portrayed as being fairly typical kids, not outrageous dummies like Romeo and Bullethead. The kinds of outlandish things those 2 did would have never been done by the sons on this show.
It was much more grounded in reality, the father knew best, but was a bit braggadocious, like he knew all the dumb stunts his sons would pull because they were the same types of things he tried to get away with at their ages.
In M&TB he owned a video shop an his name was Steve Tower. He also had an old r&b group just as in his WB series and Wendy Raquel Robinson played his date in 2 episodes.

GarfieldKool you're silly LOL. You said you aren't gonna comment on Cedric being a basketball coach hahahahahahahahahahaha. Yeah Cedric doesn't look the part of a basketball coach. I liked the Steve Harvey Show so i didn't have any problems with it but Regina and Levita always did wear short skirts at school.

Oh no, I like looking at women in short skirts, don't get me wrong with that, especially Lovita. But what I am saying is that in real life, people that work in public schools and especially the principals don't walk around like they are about to go clubbing. She acted like a kid at times, too.
