This was hard for me because it came to

James/J.J

Mr. Roper/Jack Tripper


Both of these combinations only lasted 2 years but i will have to say it's a tie. These two combinations are powerful to me.

Who is the best straight man/silly man combination in sitcom history? That would have to be Bud Abbott, the straight man, and Lou Costello, the silly man, on "The Abbott and Costello Show." Of course, they did not get their start in television. First working together in vaudeville, then later on in films and on radio.

Well since I started looking at Seinfeld i will also have to say that another straight man silly man combo I like is

Jerry/Kramer
