Post pics of or post about the worst freeway, interstate highway, or 4 lane divided highway city bypass route that almost resembles a freeway or interstate that you consider the worst as far as safety, curves, steep grades, amount of traffic, etc. No parkways in NY, NJ, CT, MD or VA please. Only routes that have trucks on them, please. My vote goes for I-64/77 in W.VA. It has section that is very curvy and lots of traffic at same time. Aint got a pic of it, though. My secont vote would go to the Black Mountain Grade alond I-40 in N.C. I have a pic of the latter below.

I live right close to I-64/77 in WV & 2 hyped brothers ain't lyin' - it is a very dangerous, curvy & busy piece of interstate. I live in a fairly big city & the damn thing runs up above the city & it makes me a nervous wreck watching all those tractor trailer trucks zoomin' up above at 80 miles an hour! The people who live outside the city have to use it to get to & from work - so needless to say (like every other city) there's a big traffic jam up there everyday.

Yup, 95 is definitely the worst. Especially since the exits changed. When I give people directions, I don't even know what exit to give them.

696 here in Michigan. I don't know why but I hate it and try to avoid driving on it at all costs. Oh and I-75 near Detroit when they were doing construction, that was a nasty lil stretch of road.

When I got directions for the Civic Center in Portland offline, they had all the old exits. They had 'Formerly Exit #' on the signs but they were still WAY OFF. I wung the hole thing. Just like when I went to RI. How I made it to RI with the wrong directions and still made it on time is beyond me seeing as how it took me 3 hours to get home from Portland when I was less than an hour away from home.

I-235...one because it's under construction and two because it's got a lot of stupid, confusing exits and three because everyone drives like freakin idiots, going like 75 in a 55. Morons.

One of the worst and most concept interstate expressway is the famous Gowanus Expressway, Interstate 278. The most concept interstate in New York City. According to the history at www.nycroads.com that before I-278, there was the old route 27-A. In the mid-50's the old route 27-A becomes I-278. The gowanus Expressway was built between 1933 until 1964 prior to the opening of the famous Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. In the 40's there was a four-laned highway, in the 50's the highway was changed from a four-laned highway to a six-laned highway. This was first introduced by Robert Moses, the guy who made the highways. If you like to read more about the Gowanus Expressway, why don't you read this! (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/gowanus) Here is the picture of the Gowanus Expressway headed towards the Battery Tunnel before entering the toll booths. I still like Interstate 278 as an expressway rather than the Gowanus.

Sheridan Expressway became I-895 and was supposed to be extended into the Pelham section of the Bronx, at an area that would've also included the beginning of the City Line Expressway and Bronx-White Plains-Mahopac Expressway.
NY 164; City Line Expressway (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/city-line/)
NY 125; Bronx-Mahopac Expressway (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/central-corridor/)

Thanks for the information. The I-278 in New Jersey was a tail end to the Gothals Bridge where it enters into two interchanges I-78 and NJ route 24 or goes right into routes 1 & 9. take a look at the following highways. Pay attention to these:
Belt Parkway (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/belt)
FDR Drive (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/fdr)
Here are the in-depth look at the three famous East River bridges in lower Manhattan including a tunnel:
Brooklyn Bridge (http://www.nycroads.com/crossings/brooklyn) (My favorite bridge)
Manhattan Bridge (http://www.nycroads.com/crossings/manhattan) (Another of my favorite bridge)
Williamsburg Bridge (http://www.nycroads.com/crossings/williamsburg)
Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel (http://www.nycroads.com/crossings/brooklyn-battery) (One of the best tunnels in lower manhattan it features an original plan of what it turns out to be a bridge.)
Here are a few of the unbuilt roads. Besure to pay attention to these:
Westway (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/west-side) (Later became the West Side Highwway)
Cross-Brooklyn Expressway (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/cross-brooklyn)
Lower Manhattan Expressway (http://www.nycroads.com/roads/lower-manhattan)
