Jeffersons??? S&S is funny but I thought the Jeffersons was funny to lots of people. What is it about the Jeffersons that people don;t like? I'm confused.

I wanna know why too. Except for Barney Miller, I have CT's 70's sitcoms: All In The Family, Good Times, Jeffersons, Soap, What's Happening. For my personal preference Sanford & Son isn't a must own, but I'd buy the Jeffersons. Maybe they wanted to concentrate on finishing out S&S before continuing Jeffersons, not that that makes any sense.

I figured that was why they would get all of the Sanford and Son season out in order in which they came out in. All of them are unedited with a few expections according to some posters.

That can have something to do with it.

I think the bottom line, since the Jeffersons is not on TV Land or N@N; the sales of the last DVD were poor...

I didn't figure that Sanford and Son sold as many copies as it did but it did otherwise they wouldn't have the complete set out by now. I do wish that they would get The Jeffersons out now that they are over with Sanford and Son.

But one could also think that not being seen much on tv would create more of a demand. Good Times stopped showing on TBS and CT shortened the time between releases.

Just because The Jeffersons aren't on TV Land or Nick at Nite doesn't mean that the sales of Season 2 didn't sell well. Now that Sanford and Son is complete, they will get started and concentrate on getting the Jeffersons Season 3 coming out.

I agree; and I am happy that Good Times was released on DVD, and the sales were good enough to spun off 3 Seasons; as I stated before I am onlt assuming the reason why The Jeffersons 2nd Season DVD did not sell well, because the show is not widely seen in syndication like Sanford and Son (TV Land) and Good Times (TV One)...

but just because Jeffersons isn't currently in syndication doesn't mean that it wasn't in it for years. There were many years in the 90's where S&S was hard to find on tv, but yet Jeffersons reruns were very common.

Jeffersons season 3 will eventually come out on DVD, the problem is WHEN. I think each company should set a demand date for each next season. Be it 6 months or a year... but put it out. Columbia is not Fox, Seinfeld is the ONLY title they have that can move Simpson style numbers, so they shouldn't be as cocky.

I emailed TV ONE Asking is there a chance the Jeffersons or Sanford and Son will be added to their lineup. I'm still waiting on a reply-lol

Maybe CT should drop by the boards and see what we really want.

Not that CT would even bother to include some sort of tribute to Isabel Sanford on the set, but I definitely believe there'll be a season three dvd on the way soon in part because of her death.

I'm sorry, but the only interesting character on the Jeffersons was George.

I miss The Jeffersons on Tv Land; and I am surprised that it is not being shown on other networks....Put I am going to e-mail CT requiring information regarding the release of The Jeffersons 3rd Season DVD, and I will see if I get a response...

IMO I have always thought that a show NOT being in syndication would help DVD sales more. I have always thought shows that are overplayed on more than one channel that that would hurt any DVD sales, cause I've always thought people would say(about the overplayed shows) "it's on(however many channels) I can just tape it off those why buy the DVDs?"

I'm probably wrong though ;)

I do think now that Isabel Sanford has passed there will be a great demand for the rest of the Jefferson's sets, and didn't John Ritter's passing help get Three's Company on DVD?

The difference was that when John Ritter died, the second season of Three's Company release date had already been annouced. The release date was just pushed up after Ritter passed away. Now in isabel sanford's case, there has not been an annoucement for the season 3 release of the Jeffersons so it looks like Jeffersons fans will have to continue to wait for the annoucment like we were doing before she passed on.
