TVFactFan

anniversary of these shows turning 30 in 3 days
(Rhoda)-sept 9th 10 hour marathon
(Chico and the Man)-sept 13th 10 hour marathon
(That's My Mama)-Sept 4th 10 Hour marathon
I know TV LAND doesn't have the rights to these 30 yearold shows but it would just be nice to see.

Only because i'm the editor for the That's My Mama Episode Guide on tvtome.com. Out of the 39 episodes, i was able to find 8 so far so i still have 31 more eps to find-lol
The Brady Bunch is a classic that's stood the test of time. It's part of popular culture and has been since it premeired. It deserves a 35th Anniversary marathon/special.
Go and ask twenty people if they have heard of That's My Mama. None of them will have heard of it. And don't cheat by asking yourself in the mirror either...

That's my Mama wasn't the only 1974 show I listed, i also listed Chico and the Man and Rhoda.

I'll be #1 on the list. I'm old enough to remember when the show was on the air. I barely remember anything specific about it, but I definitely heard of it before TVShow Analyzer mentioned it.

I remember Rhoda from growing in the 1970s; and CATM from when the show was on TV Land several years back...

I want him to explain why it matters to him that you are the only one who cares about That's My Mama. There are plenty of shows I enjoy that nobody has heard about or cares about. I just think it was rude to say something like that.

Brian is my buddy on here and he was just picking with me because he knows I'm the only one on this board that is interested in seeing that show. That's all-lol

Of course I'm kidding Solomon. I wouldn't mind seeing old 70's shows being replayed on TVLand. That's what the station is for. I just don't think those shows were groundbreaking as was say All in the Family, Maude or Good Times. Chico and the Man maybe because of Freddie Prinz, but other than that, the other shows just won't get their due.

Yeah I know you were kiddin.
Shows I think should get some kind of mention on TVLand for milestone anniversaries (and some of the will)...
"Father Knows Best" (1954, 50 years)
"Bonanza" (1959, 45 years)
"Bewitched," "Gilligan's Island," "The Addams Family," "The Munsters" (1964, 40 years)
"The Brady Bunch" (1969, 35 years)
"Good Times" (1974, 30 years)
"Rhoda" (1974, 30 years)
"Chico and the Man" (1974, 30 years)
"The Facts of Life" (1979, 25 years)
And for NAN...
"Who's the Boss" (1984, 20 years)
"The Cosby Show" (1984, 20 years)
Notice, with TVLand, I listed shows not on the schedule in addition to shows on the sked, but NAN, I did not.

Bonanza? It only stayed on the air because people have nothing else to turn to on TV-lol And don;t even get me started on Facts of Life.

Oh they will? Can you back that up for me? Show me the press release that you got that information from? Because I'm that I, and many many others would want to tape that. Why would they do it in September if FOL debut in August 1979? That doesn't make sense.

Oh, I know you were joking. I knew you were joking because I had a strange feeling telling me to laugh, but deep inside I didn't think I should, because I didn't think what you said was funny.
I'll make my own joke here:
Did you know that Good Times is the most hilarious sitcom of all time!? Because it is such a hilarious show for all people! And the acting! Oh my God! The acting is brilliant! Almost Shakesperean! The creators and writers and cast should all get Pulitzer Prizes.
LOL.
LOL.

Cheers had its anniversary 20 years to the date.
Looking at the N@N September Schedule -- no special for WTB? or TCS.
(and when I say "special" I mean marathon) IMO thats horrible....but than again...with Nick@Nite its not reall surprising

Yeah it would be nice for N@N to do something for WTB and TCS for their 20th anniversaries, but I doubt they will. WTB they really couldn't do a marathon, cause they are limited on the airplays per week  Program exchange sucks :cuss: if they did a marathon, they would only be able to air the amount of episodes left for that week(like say they air 6, they could air 4 for the rest of that week).
All the shows mentioned in the above post, need some sort of anniversary special :)

ohno: Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not popular. ;) Bonanza does well in the ratings, or I doubt they would keep airing it

I doubt if any young viewers are watching Bonanza on TV LAND. I think it's mainly viewers over 50

And apparrently, those people over 50 are watching their show. Just like people under 35 (and many over) are watching Friends in reruns...

So? IMO Viewers are viewers, as long as they're watching, networks should be happy :)

Not anymore.
Apparently if your not between 18-49, networks dont give a **** anymore.
Which doesn't really make any sense, because the majority of people watching TV (at least during the day).... is retired people.

 sad but true, no offense to teenagers, but I don't understand why some networks covet teenage viewers, they're known to be very fickle when it comes to tv, and won't stick with one show for long, I would think they'd want older viewers who would stay with the show, and would buy the advertisers products.

FOX was geared towards a younger audience, then seemed to try to shed that image, but has returned, and now they're at their best ratings-wise. (and quality wise with AD)
I've read that both UPN and WB have been geared towards teens to catch them young, and hopefully keep them watching their entire lives.
Either way, Im not your typical teenager, I do stick with the same series. If I like, I like it. I'm not all about "what's cool", I just like what I like.
Anyways, apparently the networks dont care about me either.
