I really liked Robert Rodriguez's commentary on the Spy Kids 2 dvd! He talks to you like you're a person and not "just-a-viewer-and-he's-the-big-director-and-you-could-never-do-what-he-did" type of thing that some other director's seem to display. In fact, he actually tells you that most of the effects done on the movie could be done by anyone with a digital movie camera and he gives alot of pointers to those interested in the movie business, in essence telling you that you can do this too! I found it very motivational and I respect him for not being on a self-important director's high-horse!

Yep, I love the commentaries!

However, I wish they had some kind of voice-over captioning to accompany it....they don't have them captioned on most DVD's - that is, when you play an episode and turn on the commentary for that episode. :(

Yep Boy Meets World Season 1 is gonna have audio commentaries from 4 of the lead actors, so that's gonna be great, that I am looking forward too :D

I think it makes the release better. It gives insight to things that you never knew about your fav. shows :)

And sometimes it can just be damn entertaining! I love the commentaries on "Sledge Hammer". Alan Spencer is hilarious!

What I usually do is have the commentary on and then turn on the regular DVD captions. That way I can hear what the cast/crew/whatever are saying but I also am able to follow the episode. Not sure if that is anything like what you wish they had, but it works for me.

I'll have to play around, then. :)

The ones on the Simpsons and Futurama DVDs are hilarious.

Commentaries are sometimes the best part of a DVD.
