My baby cousin, Simon

I have a baby cousin named Simon who's a year old. Sometimes it seems like he likes everyone but me.
OK, here's the problem:

Obiously everyone wants to hold him every 5 seconds because he's a baby.
Everyone thinks I hog him so they think that's why he doesn't really like me.
But my sisters (who are 10 and 8) hog him ALL THE TIME! It's like they can never leave him alone for a second, they always have to be there to hold him or follow him. And he always wants my 10 year old sister to hold him alot.
It gets annoying! How come he likes them better and they hog him way more than me? Do you think he doesn't like me for some reason?
Sometimes my sisters and cousins get mad at me for holding him even for 2 minutes. They're like, "LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!!!!!!!".
How rude!

What should I do? And how do I make Simon like me more?
Whenever I hold him, he starts to be cranky, but then the second I put him down or give him to someone else, he's fine. :(

Exactly right. Have you tried any of the things Cashodeen and I suggested? If you have and it didn't work I guess you'll just have to deal with it and let the baby come to you when he's ready and on his own terms. Don't worry too much about it. Babies grow up quickly and before long the kid will probably be begging you to play with him. As for now don't force yourself on him and if he doesn't want you to pick him up leave him alone.

I had this happen to me also, but over time my cousin gradually grew to where I could hold him and he would set there and smile and laugh....
just be patient..... things will work themselves out... but don't give up

Mackenzie-

My cousin's baby is about 3 months old, but when he was only a month and a half, my cousin let me hold her. I freaked out. He would move, and I'd get nervous. I just felt like I'd break him or something. :o

Maybe when he gets older, I'll be more comfortable with him. If you've got my problem, the same thing will probably happen for you.
