I'm having a Spyware issue. Everytime I restart my computer, I get this icon that says "Free Travel Voucher" on the desktop and theres 2 more that say "Second Thought." I run Ad-Aware and it picks it up and everything goes away, but once I restart the computer it comes back. Does anyone have any clue what this is?
Also, when I try to open IE, my usual homepage (google) isn't in the address bar....It's says "res://jiyzd.dll/index.html" and then I get an error and it says "Explorer has caused an error in <unknown>" and then it closes. I'm using my SBC browser now, but if anyone knows what the hell is wrong with my computer, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need to download a program called ."Hijack This" (http://www.spychecker.com/download/download_hijackthis.html) and run it and delete all the entries. this happened to me and I had to do this

I found a page on SEcond Thought and there's a removal tool for it at the bottom. The link to the removal tool there is a direct link to the download.

I don't recommend people using HijackThis by themselves unless they're VERY SURE they know what they're doing...If they delete the wrong thing, BOOM! :(

OMG That website said to DL Spy Hunter....This thing is so much better than Ad Aware...It's not even 50% done and it's already found more than one Ad Aware scan has all day.

Yeah, I have the same spyware. It comes in a package now with a bunch of spyware each time I "get rid of it" with Ad-Aware.
Isn't it odd it's always the same board members getting these?

I have Spyhunter. It's great! Yeah!:happyface
Psst: Switch to Mozilla Firefox. (http://www.mozilla.org) It'll get rid of quite a large % of your spyware problems

Do you have Windows XP? If you do then you will need to disable system restore before you run the anti-virus programs otherwise the problems will always come back.
If you're on Windows XP, disable system restore and then run all your anti-virus's. Once you've done that, restart the computer and run them all again. Once you're sure that all the problems have been identified and deleted you can re-activate system restore. This should prevent the problems from re-occurring.
My computer is riddled with Spywear but thanks to the collective efforts of Spybot, Ad-aware and AVG Anti-virus I've managed to get rid of most of it.

I get those too! Course, I just delete them off my desktop which doesnt do anything.. but neither does running Spybot!
And that's why you run Spybot and Ad-Aware BOTH (And maybe a 3rd program if you're THAT bent on complete removal). Each picks up things the other doesn't. Plus, Ad-Aware is updated more often, meaning if something comes out, it'll detect it (after you update it) FAR sooner than Spybot.
Oh yeah, did I mention switching to Firefox too...that Helps. It's been a good month and a half since my last piece of Spyware, and THAT was acquired when I used IE to visit a site (It had Mozilla problems)
