Okay, I know on this board we've had like, 300 topics about boredom, but I reeeeeeeeally need your help.
I've been here almost 3 years, I know most of you better than I know my friends... so I don't have a problem sharing. I just came back from rehab for drug/alcohol abuse. It was not fun. I never want to go back there again as long as I live. I also want to have a normal, successful life, therefore I want to stay clean and sober.
Thing is, it's the beginning of summer. Last summer, I was out everyday until dark doing my usual things. Well this summer, that's obviously no more. What I need is suggestions on how to entertain myself. I mean you could suggest the littlest thing, it doesn't matter. I'm desperate, here. It's not like I can hang out with friends, because they're all drug junkies or alcoholics. So basically, I have no friends.
It's going to be a long summer for me, guys. Help!

Hang in there! Do you have any hobbies or something new you would like to try? You can volunteer somewhere and help out kids, teens or elderly people. You can also pick up a sport, going for a jog, a walk or the gym can help you keep your mind out of everything.

I really like jogging and walking, but everytime I do that, I end up running into someone or going to someone's house.
Thanks for the suggestions :)

Playing video games
Watch TV
Keeping a journal (No, I don't mean your LiveJournal, I know you have one...I mean a REAL journal that you write in)
Writing poetry
Writing song lyrics
Collecting autographed pics (you can always ask me for the addresses...)
Volunteer (see if there is a day camp going on, maybe you could jump in and be a counselor or whatever...I did that one summer)
Hmm...that's all I can think of.

Yup I do that at my old middle school a few days a week. It's really fun just doing odd and end jobs. I don't get paid, but the teachers there are just worth going for lol, I'm really close to them.

Join or help out in a community theatre group- might meet new friends.
Try writing a book or short stories or a script.
Read, watch films
Get a cat or a dog if you don't have one- but keep it even when Summer's done!
Try different hobbies; Parachuting, Painting. Sell Avon.

I kind of have the same problem, but for a different reason. frankly i hate this board but i'm addicted to it because there's really nothing else that entertains me. i watch tv and play video games and stuff but it's not enough to keep me through the day. since i came here i guess i lost interest in other things, but now i try to remember what i used to do for fun before i came here and i can't think of anything. PLEASE don't suggest volunteering, joining a club or anything else that i have to go out of my way to go to because i hate those things with a passion, as well as being with other people. so basically i'm stuck with you guys.

Get yourself a super8mm movie camera, or a video camera with stop-motion capability and some clay, and start making animated movies. I used to love doing that, and it takes up alot of your time.

I kind of know what you're talking about Safety Pin. It's not as easy as it sounds committing to some hobbie or getting involved in something. Where I live, I hate most people- plus I'm not particularly outgoing. I've started going out way more than before, but I still find it hard to join anything. When we get back to school in September I want to join the drama club. I'll probably take a sedative or something before I go in to join, so as I don't chicken out!
The stop-motion thing is a good idea. I like trying to make movies (the computer software is too hard)- but I might just try that myself!

I know you're young, but can you work part-time? Possibly babysitting or assisting a young mother out?
Think about hobbies....people here have made good suggestions so far.

Do what I do all summer Krynan: go online, watch TV, eat.:happyface
How about giving your room a makeover? Clean everything out and rearrange it. How about gardening? I know you love to read books-- go to the library and take a bunch out. Do you like crafts? Maybe you can make your own jewelry or design stuff with wood, or sew. It doesnt matter if youre good enough or not-- itll keep you occupied.
How about doing a puzzle? Get a big 5,000 piece puzzle and work on it.
Cooking? Teach yourself how to make nice big gourmet meals for dinner and stuff. Or maybe cakes and pastries.
Take up a new language! Go and get a bunch of books or whatever and teach yourself a new language, that way when you go back to school, you can swear at teachers in a different language.:p
Design a website. Make it on your favorite show, actress, or yours truly.:biglove:
Eh, thats all I can think of right now... good luck!

Develop a gambling addiction. Not only will it take up plenty of your extra time, it will also consume most of your extra money you aren't spending.

Im not sure where you live, but if its in the Northeast.... Wegman's hires at 15.
You could also take a lifeguarding course and do that as young as 15.

Pray to God for the strength to get off of the drugs. i was like you, i was heavily smoking weed all of the time until i went to church camp with my church and i got saved again, and i've been clean for almost 2 weeks.
go to church and make new friends, get away from the ones who bring you down, and get with the ones who lift you up.
you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!
hang in there, karly. i'll keep you in my prayers. :)
I'm glad to see you have gotten help and are doing better.
There are plenty of things you can do to occupy your time, and there have been some great suggestions here.
Try something new. Develop a new interest.
We're behind you.
I just hugged my computer screen as a show of support.

I don't know if you like to write, but you could write a story...or a novel if you're ambitious.
I guess just create something...paint a picture...take up photography...
And I'm glad you're kicking the habit! Good luck to you.

Haha.. I don't know if you're kidding or not, but the last thing I need is another addiction. I'm in the process of kicking four of them.
but thanks ;)

Well last summer...late at night I used to make stuff on Photoshop and it would always entertain me. At times I wouldn't sleep til like 5 in the morning because I was getting so into it  so try downloading Photoshop or PSP (if you don't have one of those already that is) and try learning something new.

You can IM me anytime you want (just as soon as my computer starts working and I get off my sister's). Remember fluffy pink hippo (was that his name?) ? You can PM me for my screename. Scrapbooking is a lot of fun too...it really gives you a chance to be creative. You can make one for yourself, or even a family member. Try making some cards or painting stuff. Go to a fabric store, but patterns for clothes and bags and go crazy with the stuff! Some people have mentioned writing on here...you could write about your experience with drugs and rehab, it could help you.
