hi everyone.
Well, my computer is acting up which is why I haven't been around much. Sorry, but it seems to be just one thing after another. Anway, I had a thought and I'd like to hear what some of your answers would be.

Let's say that tomorrow there's an announcement that Freddie's family has decided to auction off all of Freddie's possessions. (just pretend;)) Anything he owned will be up for sale and all you have to do is show up. Now first thing, you'd have to fight George Lopez to get a few items.( ) Second, you'd have to think long and hard because the one stipulation is you can only buy one item (unless you're like George and have plenty of money). What would you want of his? I know that some of you all ready have something of his, but this is just for the sake of saying, what would mean the most to you? Why would you want this particular item?
Hope to hear you answers soon!

Well the first thing I would have wanted of Freddie's was his heart...but seeings that is impossible....I think I would have liked the medals he wore around his neck the first season. And maybe that brown coat he wore...or if someone had taken them already..it would have to be the velvet blue jacket or anything red he wore...so you girls better hurry..because I have my eye on lot of his things. I would have wanted his Bible really, but I think it was best he took it with him on his special journey.

What I would of wanted of Freddie's was his Corvette, or his journel or not too seem so twisted would be his pillow. That alone would be a treasure wondering what kind of dreams Freddie had. Whether they were of his future and his success or suceeding and giving his mother what he always wanted to give her.

This is a no brainer for me, if I could have anything of Freddie's it would be his journal. I have had dreams at night of his mother giving me that journal because she wanted one of Freddie's fans to have it before she died. I truly believe in my heart that his journal holds the key to understanding his pain and what happened. It would be a dream come true to own that journal.

The journal would be my first choice too Suz....after his heart....what a great thought. It would have been wonderful to read his thoughts on life..even if he was only 22 and just a mere baby.

This isn't a coincidence that all three of us mention the journal at the same time!

Yes I agree Luckymama and Macca. I can only wonder what lies in that journal. What was stirring in Freddie's heart, mind and spirit as he wrote each entry down!

Macca you mentioned some of the things I'd love to have too - the brown leather jacket, the blue velvet sports jacket and all the red things Freddie wore that he looked so handsome in. Since you have chosen those things, I will choose his guitar. The thought of owning something that he had his arms around while he held it close to his body and strummed it with those long sensual fingers would drive me crazy. I would also love to have the pillow that he slept on the last weeks/months of his life. I could imagine the scent of his beautiful, shiney dark hair laying against it as he dreamed his nights away.

That did it...where's that pail of cold water that we used to use when this board first started??? Would someone find it and throw it my way...it sure is getting hot in here.

His guitar.... hum... that is another good choice! I would also love to have anything personal his mother would have kept from his childhood, a favorite blanket or stuffed animal..... I wonder....

And Suz, I have dreamed about owning his Corvette too....

This is a tough one. Too hard to decide but I would want more than one item & for all of us to get to read his journal...

Something I always wanted to do was write a biography of Freddie, but I would never attempt it without his journal. I dunno if I would actually publish the journal as is, but I would definitely include parts of it. I think that, except for Maria's book, nothing really has been done that honors his life. The problem with her book is that it is sooo sad. I knew she wanted to set the record straight, so she put in a lot about his death, but I would love to have a biography that dwelled more on his life. Oh well, one can always dream....

...while I would love to have any of the things already mentioned--for similar reasons--I have often thought about the fact that Freddie's head was shaved in the hospital, so they could perform surgery in an attempt to save his life. I have always wondered what happened to all the hair that must have hit the floor of that pre-op room, and I would love to have a lock of it, if one still exists somewhere.

I would love to have his Bible I know it was buried with him but he wrote a lot in there too and i believe a lot of his questions about life and some real pain may have been expressed in there as well.
Or a blanket that he loved...maybe he had a favorite (and i'm not talking about his baby blanket LOL but one that maybe an aunt made for him or that he liked to have near him if he was lonesome or sick.
Come on i know some of you out there, adults or not have something that gives you comfort when you need it right?
So those would be my choices...although to be fair since i have his awesome bracelet i cannot ask for more.
That leather jacket he has on as he is ebtering the Roxy in one of the pictures i have is awesome too!

LOL I love this question!

think of the scriptures he may have marked that brought him comfort, or a favorite Bible story...now i am curious about what he wrote in the margins there!!

I agree with Luckymama. It would be interesting to be able to write a biography on Freddie.

Instead of purchasing things, if it were possible to purchase intangible things, like time with his relatives and close friends, to really learn about Freddie would be my dream come true.

I would love to have as much time as I wanted to just ask all the questions I would want to ask, and to see all the private pictures they have of him, and hear all the personal stories they have about him.

Then a true biography of Freddie's life could be written.

And since we're wishing here... I wish I could have one big bear hug from him.

I agree totally Sfditusa! I great big bear hig from Freddie would be the perfect thing. I can just feel his arms around me leaning his head on mine. Feeling his breathing. Making no conversation though words just through the embrace we are having. Through the embrace he is glad I am, (or we) are here.

I would love copies of CATM.I wish that TVland would put the show on the air.

Also I wonder if Freddie's jacket that has the "Chicano Power" patch on the left upper sleeve is still around.

These collections are quite personal. It's good though in that these are item that you could hold an remember him by. That would really be meaningful.;)
