The Biggest Mess Beaver's Ever Gotten into

[Mrs. Ducky]

Life has changed alot for Beaver Cleaver. He's now in 11th grade and his brother Wally is in college. He still hangs out with Gilbert and Richard. He has a girlfriend named Karen.


Cleaver Kitchen


Beaver enters the kitchen where Ward is sipping coffee and June is serving breakfast

June: Good morning, Beaver!

Ward: Good morning, son.

Beaver Good morning.

Ward: So, Beaver, are you excited about your brother coming home for spring break?

Beaver: Yeah, real excited.

Beaver secretley didn't want his brother to come back. Although he loved and missed Wally, he couldn't help feeling like a stupid little kid when he is around.

June: Beaver, are you doing anything tonight?

Beaver: Well, me and Karen were going to go see a movie. Why do you ask?

June: Oh, well I told Mrs. Rutherford that you would entertain Violet tonight when they come for dinner. Can't you and Karen reschedule?

Ward: June! Don't tell me you're still making dates for our sons without them knowing about it.

June: Well Gwen asked and I couldn't tell her no!

Beaver: But mom! Me and Karen have been planning this and besides, Violet Rutherford is the creepiest girl in school, if I tell Karen that I have to break our date because of her, she'll flip.

Ward: Okay, how about we make a compromise. Beaver can have dinner with us and invite Karen and after dinner they can go to the movies. Okay?

June: Okay.

Beaver: Okay. I'd better get to school. Bye.


Mayfeild High

Richard: So you have to put up with Violet Rutherford for a few hours, big deal!

Beaver: Yeah, but Karen will be there and you know that Violet's jealous of her. I don't want a fight.

Gilbert: See. There is a plus side. You get to see a chick fight!

Karen walks over to them

Karen: Hi, Beaver.

Beaver: Hello, Karen. Hey, before we go to the movies is it alright if you have dinner at my house?

Karen: Oh, I'd love it!

Beaver: Yeah. Uh, there's something I need to tell you...

Bell rings

Karen: Oh, I have to get to my next class. Can we talk later?

Beaver: Um, sure.

Karen: Okay, bye. I love you.

Karen kisses Beaver and walks away

Cleaver Living Room

Karen: May I help you with dinner, Mrs. Cleaver?

June: Thank you, Karen, but I can handle it myself and you should stay out here and socialize. Ward, tell me when the Rutherfords arrive.

June goes in the kitchen

Karen: Rutherfords? Beaver don't tell me that that awful girl Violet is going to be here.

Beaver: Just try to ignore her.

Doorbell rings, Ward answers it

Ward: Oh, hello, everybody.

Fred: Hello, Ward ol' man! Say, do you know what we're having for dinner?

Ward: You'll have to ask June. She's in the kitchen.

Fred: Oh, no, I can wait. I don't want to get in the way of women's work.

Ward: Beaver, aren't you going to say hello to Violet?

Beaver: Hi.

Violet: (smiling) Hello, Beaver.

Karen: Hello, Violet.

Violet: (glaring) Hello.


Cleaver Dining Room

Karen: That was a lovley dinner, Mrs. Cleaver.

June: Why, thank you, Karen. You know, we haven't all gotten together like this for a long time.

Fred: Yes, having dinner with you people brings back old times. Remember when we went on that picnic and when I was taking a picture Violet kissed Beaver.

Ward: Fred, I don't think this is the time to...

Fred: Of coarse, when they started dating he started kissing her alot more!

Violet: Daddy!

Fred: Hold on, princess, you can tell your story after I'm finished. You know, Ward, Beaver and Violet make a great couple.

Beaver: Uh, dad, can I be excused. Me and Karen need to get to the movies.

Ward: Sure, son.


Outside Karens home

Beaver: That was a great movie.

Karen: Yeah, I liked it alot. (pause) You wanna come in?

Beaver: Sure.



Karen's Living Room

Karen: You want a soda?

Beaver: Yeah.

Karens goes into the kitchen and comes back with a soda

Karen: Here you go.

Beaver takes a sip

Beaver: I should be getting home.

Karen: Oh do you have to go? There's plenty of fun stuff to do around hear.

Beaver: Like what?

Karen: I can think of a few things. smiles seductivley

long pause

Beaver: Oh, that. I don't know.

Karen: Don't you love me Beaver?

Beaver: Of coarse I do. But aren't your parents home?

Karen: Nope.

Beaver: Yeah but my parents are expecting me.

Karen: Tell them your staying over at a friends.

Beaver: Gee, Karen, I don't know if I'm ready.

Karen: Do you love me?

Beaver: Yeah.

Karen: Then your ready. Now call your parents.

Beaver: Okay (dials number) Hi, mom. Is it alright if I spend the night at Gilberts? Okay thanks, bye. (dials gilbert's number) Hey, Gil, if my parents call, I'm over there okay? I'll explain later. (hangs up)

June: What did you do?

Beaver: Uh... just stuff.

Ward: Stuff?

Beaver: Yeah, stuff. Hey, Dad, can I go to the malt shop? I'm supposed to meet Richard.

June: But you just got home.

Beaver: Yeah, but Richard's expecting me.

Ward: Alright, son. But be back in a few hours. Wally should be here soon.


Malt Shop

Gilbert: Hey, Beave, why'd you call and tell me to tell your parents that you were over at my house/

Beaver: I was busy.

Richard: Busy with what?

Beaver: Well let's just say it kept me and Karen busy all night.

Gilbert: Gee, Beaver, you lied to your parents just so you could fool around with your girlfriend? Have you been taking lessons from Eddie Haskell?

Just then Karen walks in the malt shop and over to them.

Richard: Hey, Karen! I heard you had quite a night!

Gilbert: Tell me, Karen, was he good??!!

Richard and Gilbert explode with laughter

Beaver: Cut it out, you guys!

Karen: Beaver, I was wondering if you wanted to come over.

Beaver: Aw, gee, I'd love to but my brother is coming home from college and I need to get back in a few minutes.

Karen: Oh, I'd love to meet your brother! Can I come along?

Beaver: Sure, let's go!


Cleaver Living Room

Karen and Beaver walk in the front door and find Ward, June and Wally in the living room

Wally: Hi, Beave!

Beaver: Hi, Wally! Great to see you!

Karen: Ahem.

Beaver: Oh! This is my girlfriend Karen.

Wally: Nice to meet you.

Karen: You too.


Cleaver Dining Room

Ward: So, Wally, what's college like for you?

Wally: It's real neat, Dad.

June: Well, I see everyone's done here. I'm going to clear the table.

Karen: May I help you Mrs. Cleaver?

June: Thank you Karen.


Cleaver Kitchen

Karen and June are doing dishes

June: You really like the Beaver, don't you?

Karen: Of coarse I do.

June: Well, Karen, I have to thank you.

Karen: Oh, you don't have to thank me. I do the dishes all the time.

June: I'm talking about Beaver. Ever since he started dating you he's been happier.

Karen: He has?

June: Yes. And who could blame him? Your such a wonderful girl Karen. Don't break his heart.

Karen: I won't.


Boys Bedroom

Wally: That Karen is really something.

Beaver: Yeah, she is. Wally, do you have a girl up at your school?

Wally: I have to much studying to do to worry about girls.

Beaver: Are you sure?

Wally: Well there is one girl.

Beaver: Wgat's her name?

Wally: Sally. Or was it Linda? No it was Christine. Yeah that's who it was!

Beaver: One girl, huh?


Mayfeild High

Richard: Hey Beaver, here comes your girl.

Karen: Beaver, can I talk to you...lookes at Gilbert and Richard...in private?

Beaver: Sure.

Beaver and Karen walk away from Gilbert and Richard. But they are still listening from a distance

Karen: Beaver, I...(startes to cry)

Beaver: Don't cry, Karen. It can't be that bad.

Karen: Beaver, I'm pregnant.

Gilbert and Richard look at each other in shock

Beaver: Your what?

Wally: Hey, Beave, what's wrong? You look like you just say a ghost!

Beaver: Wrong? What could be wrong? Can't a guy walk into his own rooom without getting the third degree?

Wally: Alright!

long pause

Beaver: Wally, have you ever done anything special with a girl?

Wally: What do you mean by special?

Beaver: You know, special.

Wally: Beaver, what are you trying to say?

Beaver: If I tell you, do you promise you won't tell anybody?

Wally: Is it that bad?

Beaver: I'll say!

Wally: How much trouble would you be in if mom and dad found out?

Beaver: The most. Heck, I'd be in trouble even if mom and dad found out.

Wally: Alright, I promise. Now what's the deal?

Beaver: Well, today at school Karen told me that she was...(pause)

Wally: What? What'd she tell you?

Beaver: I got her pregnant.

Wally: You did what? I can't beleive it!

Beaver: Beleive it. And remember, you can't tell mom and dad!

Wally:What are you going to do? Show up nine months later with a baby and tell them then?

Beaver: Well, I don't know.

Wally: Boy, Beave, it sure was easier when you thought girls were creepy.

Beaver had to stay after school and ran into Violet Rutherford


Violet: Hello, Beaver.

Beaver: Violet? What are you doing here?

Violet: Waiting for you.

Beaver: Why?

Violet: To congratulate you.

Beaver: On what?

Violet: On the new baby.

Beaver: Who told you?

Violet: Richard and Gilbert are telling everyone.

Beaver: Some friends they are.

Violet: Beaver, why Karen?

Beaver: I don't...

Violet: Is it her father's money?

Beaver: No.

Violet: is it her body?

Beaver: No. Why do you care?

Violet: Oh, I know what it is. It's because she'll give you something no one else will.

Beaver: That's not true!

Violet: Then how did she get pregnant? Those things just don't happen you know.

Beaver: What Karen and I do in private is none of your business!

Violet: I used to think you were different, Beaver, but you're not. You're just another sex-crazed jerk!

Beaver: Oh, go to hell!

Beaver leaves the building

Ward is sitting in the livig room reading the news paper when the phone rings and Fred Rutherford's voice comes on the phone.


Fred: Ward I just heard the news.
