"While all the other kids were out playing ball and stuff, I used to stay in my room and imagine that there was a camera in the wall. And I used to really believe that I was putting on a television show and that it was going out to somewhere in the world." - Andy Kaufman
After doing some reading up on Andy Kaufman last night i was able to find that quote, And was quite surprised to find i wasnt the only one that thought that way. As a matter of fact, Theres probably alot of people that think like that. Who Hasnt At least one point in their life, Imagines that they were Just part of one big TV Show...Especially after seeing a Movie like "The Truman Show". I Know my entire life i have thought like that. I However, Have always had a Much deeper theory on this. Some of you may think that its crazy or just plain unrealistic...But who are we to REALLY Say whats unrealistic when there are so many things in the universe we dont understand. So Here is My Theory.
Any Good Writer will tell you that to write something really good...You Need to know your characters inside out. You Create these characters and the situations that they're In and pretty much know their entire History, Whats going to happen to them, And The characteristics that make them what they are.
Now, Heres where it gets interesting, Because as any believer of God Would Know...God Created Us, Knows Everything about us, And knows exactly whats going to happen to us in the future. Alot of people question how That would even be possible, But when you think about it...He has the EXACT Same Job as a Creator of a Television show or Movie. So whos not to say, That we arent just fictional characters of his in A TV Show airing On TV in another Universe.
Well naturally We all know we're not Fictional, Because to ourselves...We are real, And Other people are real. But have you ever thought wha a TV Character may think? NOT The actor that plays the character on TV...But the TV Character Himself. Of Course, Alot of people are probably right Now reading this and thinking "Well they're just TV Characters...There not real!". But like I Said...Whos to even say that WE Are real. Whether you agree with this theory or not, You must admit...It IS Possible that we are actually just characters on one big TV Show, Or Movie, Or Book.
Ok, Now that you all Know of my Pshycotic Theory You May go back to your regular lives. :)
Interesting theory Chad.
They do say "write what you know" and what better subject to write about than your own life.

So we're all just actors in a tv show?
I want one million dollars per episode, or else I'm walking off the set! To hell with the fans!
Remind you of anyone we know?;)

So we're all a bunch of underpaid method-actors? ;)
I like the theory though. I mean, sometimes I feel like I'm acting my way through various situations.

No, I really think that way, too. It's weird...because I really think anything is possible...us just being one big tv show, God...the sun just being one giant atom in someones body and earth is a neuron or something...I was actually born on the planet Zorthon and that's why no one understands me. Anything. So glad I'm not this huge, strange person with thoughts totally different from the rest of the world. Yay.
Kind of reminds me of an ep of South Park...where all of earth was just one big reality show with all species mixed together (Jews, Chinese, bears etc  ) and everyone was watching it on those individual planets. Even stuff like that is possible, it really is...[/odd]
And Andy Kaufman rules.

My sitcom is the most boring, annoying thing on TV!
That is a cool little theory though. I create characters all the time, so I spend a lot of time in another person's world...kind of like being on TV.

hey...if our lives are just one big TV show...then do people die because they're no longer entertaining? is death like getting cancelled? hmmm... i should make my life more entertaining before it's too late... forget about quality - I want ratings!! excuse me while i go throw myself down the stairs and begin an affair with the homeless man down the street.

I wonder if I'm a character in a book who loves books or a character in a movie/series who loves books. I can't imagine my life being all that interesting to watch...

My dad imagrated to planet Earth from planet Shmo. Do you think think our two homeworlds are at war with eachother and if we meet we could help to usher in a new era of peace and friendship between Shmo and Zorthon? Lets find out! We'll meet, and research the issue together. Then if it's true we'll start peace nagotiations... or maybe I'll just kill you and offer your head to lord Shortolobe as a gift! We'll see...

VERY interesting theory.
Sometimes I go through my day, doing little quirky things -- that would make me laugh if I watched someone else do it.
And if somebody does something stupid or dumb.... I give the classic "mr. roper camera mug" into nowhere.
If my life were a TV show.... it'd be a sitcom.
A pretty boring sitcom.... but a sitcom.
I hate drama, in real life and on TV.

I dont think death would be like getting cancelled.
Sudden death is sudden cancellation, that has no reasonable explanation.
But death of a sickness or old age is like a series finale.... one last hurray before the end.
