For me, either Rhoda or That's My Mama

None. Marathons ruin shows. Seeing any show that much in 2 days it makes me sick of it FAST. I'd much rather just watch an episode or two a day.

Same here. I can't watch the entire marathon anyway if I wanted too.

Considering the fact that the average person cannot stay away for 48 consecutive hours, the only reason a 48-hour marathon would be broadcast would be so the network airing it could hype it up -- not for the benefit of the fans.

As others in the thread have already mentioned, the two main reasons massive marathons aren't fun for the fans is because you can't watch the whole thing and therefore feel incomplete for not doing it and, unless the show subliminal sends out waves of pure crack, watching so many episodes one after the other would cause most people to get bored/sick/disgusted with the show. Not something people really want to do.

I guess i shold have asked the question a different way. I was asking what 30 year old sitcom would you want to see that you NEVER SEEN BEFORE. That's why i chose Rhoda and that's my Mama

Ah, well in that case, sadly, most of the shows I'm interested weren't on long enough for a 48-hour marathon!

I've only ever watched one 48 marathon of a show and not gotten bored of it. That was Adam-12.

Neither Sanford and Son or the Odd Couple are 30 year old sitcoms. Sanford and Son is 32 years old and the Odd Couple is 34 years old

I would love to see a Happy Days one. A Rhoda one wouldn't hurt either.

Rhoda would be ideal.
I think the whole series could air.

But Id much rather have a DVD than a marathon (of ANY show)

I won't buy Happy Days on DVD until they release the seasons recorded in front of a studio audience. I think that is season 3. I can't stand the opening credits of season 1-ONE TWO THREE'O CLOCK FOUR O' CLOCK ROCK

Ill buy every season of HD (even post-Ritchie) but the first 2 seasons were the best.
It had its own "feel", it was more about the 50s.
But once the 3rd season started, the 50s were an afterthought in most cases.

They're in their 30s which makes it a 30 year old sitcom

There were only 39 episodes of That's My Mama, each about, what, 24-26 minutes in length. That's only about 16 hours and 15 minutes, well short of 48 hours...unless of course you want to watch the same episodes over and over, in which case you could see each episode about two and a half times.

If that is the case, my question is, why?

And while we're on the subject of 1974 television, I've got a page at my site all about the 1974 Fall Season and the shows that premiered then:

I'll go with Rhoda, too.

I've only seen a handful of episodes, so it would be nice to see, or tape all of them if there ever were a marathon for it.
