I've been reading on the TV Land boards recently, and there's been a lot of talk of viewership concerning Lucy's shows which has led me to these question(s):

1) Do you think The Lucy Show only generates the audiences that of I Love Lucy? If so, why? or why not?

2) Do you think The Lucy Show is able to stand on its own two feet without any outside influence (or help) from I Love Lucy? Why or why not?

3) Do you think it will be pointless to add 'another' Lucy show on TV Land since I Love Lucy is already on there?

1) I'd say no. I was a huge fan of The Lucy Show when I was little, but hadn't even heard of I Love Lucy till I was four. So a person could be a fan of TLS and never seen ILL (although that's pretty rare).

2) Yes! The Lucy Show is a wonderful show, and could have the "classic" status if it weren't for I Love Lucy. It's sad that Lucy's later shows, which were definitely above average in quality are sometimes lost in the shadows of I Love Lucy. It got very good ratings in the 60's, and although I Love Lucy essentially introduced her to the public, The Lucy Show did very well in it's own right.

3) Not at all..Everyone should see all of Lucy's shows, not just I Love Lucy. Although they all star the same person, each series is different and has their own great qualities. I've been praying that someday all of her series would air regularly for as long as I can remember. Hopefully one day it will happen.
