I have to totally agree with Dale. There are so many other shows that could be brought back other than a cheesy show with a kid robot. how about showing the old Beyond Westworld again? or some of the other early programs that dealt with female androids.

Cant even comment on the series.Now whether this is because it never made it on to UK tv or just was not shown at a time when I would have noticed it I dont know.If anyone wants to gen me up on details,or whether its simply best to forget this thread I dont know,but the matter of bringing it back to US tv is totally irrelevant to me,but if anyone wants to please fill me in more on what it was about I would be grateful as so called link wouldnt work for me,possibly because I am in the UK,and using a UK ISP.

and besides there IS NO MORE FOX FAMILY CHANNEL. It was bought up by Disney almost two years ago now. It's now ABC Family and I doubt even Disney wants it (small wonder that is)

Hey guys, look i have never seen this show and don't even know what its about, but give the guy a break here, If you don't agree then fair enuff but i spose people have there own tastes.
This guy has never posted before (as far as i know) but he has been about for about 6-7 months now so he has not just joined up to plug this idea.
If this was i dunno mann and machine or stepford wives or something (using two random well known examples here) u guys would be all for it and surely any fembot show is better then none??.

Dale's 100% correct - after all, what does the "S" in "ASFR" stand for, people? Those of you who are willing to "take anything available," rather than adhere to a few basic limits are treading on quicksand, to put it mildly.
As for the show itself, it was basically awful across the board, save for the general (emphasize GENERAL) premise of "humanizing a robot / machine." Had the premise been built around an adult female robot, it would have been easier (morally and ethically) to fucus on the sex appeal (and it has been done; My Living Doll, Mann and Machine, etc.) ; think about what "age of consent" means if you're still on the fence.
Premise aside, the show mauled the already past-pulped-and-now-decaying format of "safe comedy" - the few cliches they failed to exhaust down to molecular level can be counted on one finger!! "Leave it to Beaver" still works because it was OF it's times; SW, although trying very hard to emulate innocent amusement in the same vein, simply could not fit into the adult society of the '80's (yes, the show did well with the kids, but few of them could generate $$ for the shows' sponsors, which is the main factor ANY show is launched in the first place). What was innocently amusing 30 years previously grates on the nerves in today's "mature" society, as it did during the original run of the show. Succinctly, SW was lousy as a show.
And finally, for the record, I'm much more than "sensitive" about the whole pedophilia mess - I'm downright MILITANT about it!! I've been witness to a couple instances over the last year or two - and I can guarantee there is no worse experience than watching true innocence being brutally tortured or killed well before its' time! Vici may be a robot first and foremost, but as a fetish object she's simply NOT.
I don't care whether or not the show comes back, but I DO care about a child's image being casually accepted into this fetish; it just simply SHOULD NOT BE DONE!!!

Ok frist let me say it is possible that tmc_6882 only has very bad taste in sitcoms and really has no sexual intrest in children. It's quite possible he just misunderstood the purpose of this board and might just be intrested in androids in a way that is not purely sexual. On the other hand he might in fact be a pedophile. But no one here is a mind reader and can't say for sure. Yes tmc_6882 might be a pedophile, and if he is that's sick, if he isn't well he just really needs to pay attention to the nature of message borads he's on.
Second Stephine was trying to be neutral and non judgemental. Makeing the point that it's unfair to make assumptions about tmc_6882 and insulting her intillect was just mean and unessicary. Not everyone who disagrees with the apprent consensus is trying to be enflamatory.
Further, Small Wonder wasn't painful to watch but frankly it wasn't that good, certianly not good enough to justify it's return to televsion.
Lastly. Internet pettitions NEVER work, companies don't pay attention to e-signatures and frankly don't bring back shows unless they see potenial for profit. Small Wonder was none, they won't consider it.

tmc has made several posts in the past, almost all having to do with content on various yahoo sites. I believe this latest submission was simply a cut and paste note from some other site and tmc posted it here because he/she thought we 'might' be interested.
While I understand the connection being made by many members here between a child robot and sex I do not believe it was meant to be interpreted this way, but was only intended as an informational post about a television show with a robot character.

Dale's 100% correct - after all, what does the "S" in "ASFR" stand for, people? Those of you who are willing to "take anything available," rather than adhere to a few basic limits are treading on quicksand, to put it mildly.
As for the show itself, it was basically awful across the board, save for the general (emphasize GENERAL) premise of "humanizing a robot / machine." Had the premise been built around an adult female robot, it would have been easier (morally and ethically) to fucus on the sex appeal (and it has been done; My Living Doll, Mann and Machine, etc.) ; think about what "age of consent" means if you're still on the fence.
Premise aside, the show mauled the already past-pulped-and-now-decaying format of "safe comedy" - the few cliches they failed to exhaust down to molecular level can be counted on one finger!! "Leave it to Beaver" still works because it was OF it's times; SW, although trying very hard to emulate innocent amusement in the same vein, simply could not fit into the adult society of the '80's (yes, the show did well with the kids, but few of them could generate $$ for the shows' sponsors, which is the main factor ANY show is launched in the first place). What was innocently amusing 30 years previously grates on the nerves in today's "mature" society, as it did during the original run of the show. Succinctly, SW was lousy as a show.
And finally, for the record, I'm much more than "sensitive" about the whole pedophilia mess - I'm downright MILITANT about it!! I've been witness to a couple instances over the last year or two - and I can guarantee there is no worse experience than watching true innocence being brutally tortured or killed well before its' time! Vici may be a robot first and foremost, but as a fetish object she's simply NOT.
I don't care whether or not the show comes back, but I DO care about a child's image being casually accepted into this fetish; it just simply SHOULD NOT BE DONE!!!

Ok frist let me say it is possible that tmc_6882 only has very bad taste in sitcoms and really has no sexual intrest in children. It's quite possible he just misunderstood the purpose of this board and might just be intrested in androids in a way that is not purely sexual. On the other hand he might in fact be a pedophile. But no one here is a mind reader and can't say for sure. Yes tmc_6882 might be a pedophile, and if he is that's sick, if he isn't well he just really needs to pay attention to the nature of message borads he's on.
Second Stephine was trying to be neutral and non judgemental. Makeing the point that it's unfair to make assumptions about tmc_6882 and insulting her intillect was just mean and unessicary. Not everyone who disagrees with the apprent consensus is trying to be enflamatory.
Further, Small Wonder wasn't painful to watch but frankly it wasn't that good, certianly not good enough to justify it's return to televsion.
Lastly. Internet pettitions NEVER work, companies don't pay attention to e-signatures and frankly don't bring back shows unless they see potenial for profit. Small Wonder was none, they won't consider it.

tmc has made several posts in the past, almost all having to do with content on various yahoo sites. I believe this latest submission was simply a cut and paste note from some other site and tmc posted it here because he/she thought we 'might' be interested.
While I understand the connection being made by many members here between a child robot and sex I do not believe it was meant to be interpreted this way, but was only intended as an informational post about a television show with a robot character.

I must say as a kid small wonder topped my list of favorite shows, but to sit and watch it now..... nah! not my cup of tea. Besides between searching for new Gynoid finds and watching the stanley cup playoffs who has time LOL

I suspect that the original poster meant "no harm". But as Macheavelli
once said "It is not virtue which is the important thing, but rather the
appearance of virtue." As such, anyone linking to this board is suspect
when they mention under age bots.
And I suspect that the fans of "Small Wonder" might have found our happy home by using an old link from a LARGE "Small Wonder" tribute
site. It's a link to the "Gynoid Gallery" and is described as "A site dedicated to female androids from Film and TV." With no comment regarding adult content. A BAAADDDD choice of the webmaster there,
no matter their intent.
