Its the same thing that was done to old movies. The people then had no idea that their would be a thing called video and that the movies could be played for future generations so they didn't take care of the reels. Many of those films are now lost.:(

 Or destroyed. At least they thought to save the reels from way back when, though. But yeesh. A huge chunk of Johnny Carson from the 60's is gone, because a lot of his reels got destroyed. :(

Well, upon observing my CD player, I see no possible way to have sex with it. But then again, 15-20 years ago, CD players were fairly large. Seriously; what was this kid thinking? If he does it in his sleep, you know that he has done it at least once before completely coherently.

Ah, yes, Bette Midler. I think my mom saw that one; she was a huge Bette Midler fan at the time. I think she still is. I've never seen the whole thing, b ut I remember hearing about it.

It's called sleepwalking.

And yeah...they were. Today's CD players are portable, practically.

Sorrrrrrrrry. Havin' one of my moments. Besides...it makes sense. I don't have anything else to do tomorrow...No homework, whatever...it's going to be boring if I went to bed now and got up early in the AM because I would have nothing to do.

Ha, I'm glad I'm going away for Easter. I need to get outta this place.

Since we're on the subject of nostalgia.

I remember hearing about this game when I was little and I wanted it. Last year I went to Game FAQs and it looks like it wasn't a very good game based on the reviews.

 You just reminded me! About four months ago, I was at my dad's to collect my video game crap, and I had a bunch of SNES stuff...lemme see what I have...I might have a few ads like those...

I wanted to make it bigger so you could see the text but that is as big as it will allow. You can read it and others I will post at the Video Game Museum.

A former childhood friend of mine was crazy about everything Mario, so she wound up getting that for her birthday from her dad. She never liked it.

I tried looking up Pong but it looks like the link is dead. Anyway, that was a fun game when I was in 2nd and 3rd grade.

*SIGH*

This brings up a VERY good memory for me.

Up about 2 years ago, the city I live in had this arcade place...You went in, paid to get in, and you got to play about 95% of the arcade games for free...the newer ones, you had to pay to play. All their arcade games were authentic from the 80's. They had every genre...etc etc etc. They even had Centipede. One of my ABSOLUTE FAVES to play at this place - Snoopers - was Elevator Action. Oh man, how I loved playing this game! They had oh - maybe 50-60 arcade games you could play. They had bumper cars and another room set up with SNES and Playstation 1 games. They had Nintendo characters painted all over the wall - that is, when Snoopers opened up in the 80's. It was very 80's. Around two years ago, they closed down Snoopers and reopened as an Ace Hardware store. You don't know how much that killed me. :crybaby: I miss that place SOOOOOOO much. :( I went to it all the time when I was a little kid, and when I would come to visit my family on the weekends, we'd go to Snoopers. That continued through high school.

Karate Champ is a pretty obscure game that I think came out in 1985 or so. Lemme look it up...

Oh BOY oh BOY that just reminded me of some really funny times.

I mentioned that my friend and I LOVED playing Karate Champ. You see those two characters - the white-outfited and red-outfited guys. Anyway, we used to make up funny stories about them, because Karate Champ was just that dumb.

I wish I could find a screencap of the judge (the blue outfited guy) saying "JUDGE!" and "RED!" or "WHITE!" - my friend and I used to DIE laughing when he did that.

But what was the most hilarious about Karate Champ was their bonus round. OH BOY  If your character won and went on to the bonus round, he had to flee for his life by avoiding tiny flying killer twigs and whatnot. At the end, the girl would go up to your character, say "" in a talk bubble, and then kiss your character. In turn, your character's head would become really big and he'd be grinning his head off. Too hilarious. It was also even more funnier if you got killed by a flying twig.

*DROOL*

This auction is for a DVD that I purchased in California in December at a fan club convention. It is for the lost 1982, 90 minute special, in which MAMA from The Carol Burnett show, Dies. Yes, the MAMA character does in fact die. They brought her back to life in MAMAS FAMILY and pretended it never happened! Not seen in over 20 years. The 90-minute TV special Eunice reunites the "family" originally created for the weekly variety series The Carol Burnett Show. Carol Burnett plays Eunice, the frustrated, viper-tongued, ever-envious wife of dyspeptic, long-suffering Ed (Harvey Korman, who also directed). Eunice carries on a ceaseless battle with her cranky, obnoxious mother (Vicki Lawrence), who considers the day wasted if she can't spread a little gloom amongst her loved ones. The special is constructed in the form of a three-act play. Act One, set in 1955, delineates Ed and Eunice's courtship, and also introduces Eunice's easily hurt brother Philip (Ken Berry). Act Two takes place in 1963, with Philip encouraging Eunice to head to New York in pursuit of an acting career, which comes to naught when, in Act Three, she self-indulgently chooses a life of booze and broken dreams. And Act Four occurs in 1978, with the death of Eunice's unlamented mother (a character later revived for the TV sitcom Mama's Family) and the invasion of her snooty, judgmental sister Ellen (Betty White). Alternately hilarious and heartrending, Eunice was first telecast March 15, 1982.

This is a great DVD and a must for any fan of THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW. It is great to see that little Mama was human, too. The winner of the dvd must send payment and shipping to me asap and I take cash, checks, money order, western union auction payments aka bid pay or pay pal. No credit cards at pay pal, please.
