Yeah, I hadn't seen you on the random board before this one. The first one I ever joined was Tara's What's Happening thread. From then on, all of us in here just started coming together a little at a time. Now it's a regular thing. I'm glad you decided to stop by here to chat with us. :)

My dad's sister and husband live there with there 5 kids... kind of a small town near Ft. Worth. So I went to there, Dallas, and then Eastern TX (Gilmer I believe it's called.) It was fun. We were thinking about moving to the Ft. Worth area, but it never did pan out.

Those are all great cities. When you said you loved your time here, I had a feeling you'd been in that part of the state. If your first time is spent around El Paso or even up in the panhandle, chances are, you're not going to like it very much.

No, he's in San Angelo which is in Central Texas. That little town is nothing but dirt and tumbleweeds, I swear. It's no wonder he was telling us he wanted to be closer to Houston or Dallas - it's a hell of a lot greener on this side.

There's so much to see down here and it's NOT like you see in those John Wayne movies, where we don't even have grass on our lawns. Hopefully, before he leaves he will get the chance to see what I mean by that.

Ya know, I do remember MJ back before he was getting real different looking. When I was 2 and 3 he was coming off of the Thriller craze, but was still so big. I would see the videos, see him in the press, all that. Then it seemed like he was out of the media just long enough to do some real crazy changes and then come out with "Bad" in 87. I remember being 4 at the time and in utter shock that his face was starting to look so altered, and his skin was getting light. I was so mad at him. I remember thinking, "I just want him to change back!" Little did I know, more nutty stuff was to come.

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/images/nd/NDDUNturtle.jpg
W'eel Turtle -- Dunseith, ND
Welded together from over 2,000 steel wheel rims by the owner of Dale's Thrifty Barn, which conveniently stands next door.
The head alone weighs over a ton, and is mounted on a pivot so you can bob it up and down if you've been working out. This is the kind of nightmare we imagine clanking around the countryside in a Japanese monster movie.

(I've never seen this landmark-- Dunseith is a town by the ND/Canada border and I haven't ventured upt o Canada since '98)
