Minneapolis, then back up to my home town of Moose Lake. But of course I *get* to stop in Denver first for layover.

Anyway, I think the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport is just as large, too. I had a connecting flight from Mpls to Washington DC two years ago and we walked fooooorever to get to our gate for DC. :o

Dear Ms. Burnett,

I am 21 years old and am writing to you on behalf of my parents. My mother was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus. We had to sell our home of ten years because of medical bills. Now we rent a house (my parents and 3 younger brothers). I am writing to ask you to buy the house and let my parents rent from you. They are suppose the buy the house in March but I don't know if they will have the money. My parents are good people. My dad works two jobs and my mom gets disability because of seizures from the disease. My brothers are 17,14, and 13 and they are good too. I am not asking for anything free, just something nice to happen to my parents. I chose to write to you because I graduated fron John Foster Dulles High school and my brother will graduate from there in June. Please e-mail me if you want more information or my number. Thank you for reading my letter.

You are one of my favorite entertainers and I've enjoyed your performances for many years. I live in Central Arkansas and was so excited when I heard an announcement that you would be here on June 8. My 52nd birthday was June 10, a memorable one for me because I'd get to see Carol Burnett in person. I searched the map for the town I'd heard announced "Bellville", located about 3 hours from here up near Harrison. I left early in the day and enjoyed a beautiful drive through the Ozarks. I couldn't find the park, so I called the radio and television stations for directions. They suggested I call the Mayor's office, which I did and as directions were explained to me, I realized that the town you were visiting is "Belleville" about 30 minutes from where I live. Needless to say, I couldn't make it back in time to see you. (Who would have thought there would be 2 towns spelled "Bellville" and 1 spelled "Belleville" in Arkansas?) I heard that hundreds of folks were there - and I wanted you to know that it would have been hundreds and one! You are a remarkable lady, a wonderful entertainer and I adore you. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to communicate with you.

I dug out some of my old journals from when I was still in middle/high school...I found this entry from the beginning of my sophomore year. I only typed out part of this entry - there was more - but this is the funniest part.

At the time I wrote this entry, I was in Colorado for an aunt's wedding, and I wrote this entry on the day she got married. So, here it is. I haven't stopped chuckling since I typed it out

Saturday, September 30, 2000 11:42PM (MST)
My morning started out like this: we woke up @ 9:45AM MST, and my dad came in our room, asking us if we wanted to go eat out. Mary and I said yes, and then my dad told me, "HURRY UP! HURRY UP! You have to get dressed fast! No time for a shower!" So I said "OK!" and he said to me, while I was still in my PJ's, "Those clothes are just fine." and I gave him a strange look, because you don't eat out in your PJ's. How dumb. I hurried really fast, put on my khaki toggle pants, my "Don't Walk On the Iguana - Science Museum of Minnesota" shirt and wrapped my "Polar Energie" orange shirt around my waist and fixed my hair. We practically flew out the door and... we went ACROSS the street to Denny's. Duh.

It's really the under-25 crowd that I scout out obituaries for...I was looking around and there was this obituary for some girl that was born on September 18, 1989 that just passed away recently...Of course, the obits never reveal the real reason why they pass away...but jeez.

There seems to be a lot more Native American obits than the ones for white people...it's like they have a higher morality rate or something, where I used to live that is....

Creepily enough, it's very common for Native Americans up where I used to live, to pass away at an young age...It's quite something if they make it to 60 years old. I can think of one...When I was a senior, there was this murder that took place on the reservation - both boys, both cousins. One was 17 and the other was 19 (this was in early 2003). They were having an argument about something totally trivial, then the 19 year old boy took out a gun, shot and murdered his 17 year old cousin. Sadly, this kind of thing is common on the reservation. ohno:

I miss HS, but I DON'T miss my class - I knew 6 girls in my class that had been pregnant by the time we graduated, and the grade below me only had one girl in the entire grade that got pregnant (and it's still holding).

When we were graduating last spring, the 6th girl was still pregnant at the time, and she looked ready to explode, so I wouldn't be surprised if she had her baby not too long after we graduated.

You were very smart, no doubt about that. If there are times that I miss, it's my freshman and sophomore years. I just couldn't stand those uppity, spoiled brats we had to see every single day. There was a guy who - I kid you not - totalled about 5 brand-new cars. What'd his parents do? Bought him another one.

 But, on the bright side I have a lot of good memories, was popular and well-liked so I can't complain all that much. Not popular in a "cheerleader" kind of way, but enough. Whenever I hear The Doors or Dee-lite, I think of my friend Kim and just the other day when I was at Office Depot, I saw some locker shelves, which remind me of the year when a bunch of us shared one locker and had to figure out how to organize the damn thing. Stuff like that.

Some of the popular girls had to go to alternative school because of that. There's one who has three kids now, another with two and they're all married to the same boyfriends who got them pregnant - and they're miserable.

True. True. Very true.

I KNOW there were a few girls - I think maybe two or three - that got pregnant by accident. You know, doing the steady BF/GF thing, then they decide to have sex for the 1st time and the condom breaks...Or another scenario like that. HOWEVER, I KNOW there were another two or three girls that totally acted like sluts - you could just tell - and I knew they knew better, but they did it anyway. Bad BAD BAD BAD BAD role models. :nonono: You know the 6th girl I mentioned earlier that got pregnant? I'm surprised she got THAT far in high school without getting pregnant -- OY. She acted like a TOTAL slut. She was in a lot of my classes, and she was always all over the boys in our classes, esp. the ugly ones. :barf: That same girl eventually got her mojo on with this guy that was in my sophomore English class. She was in a lot of my classes, and she was always all over the boys in our classes, esp. the ugly ones. :barf: That same girl eventually got her mojo on with this guy that was in my sophomore English class. Sleazebags. :thumbsdow

Ugh, that's really sad and disappointing. I mean, knowing they could've taken a different path but instead chose to behave that way. The girl I told you about got it on with several other guys, not just her boyfriend. She couldn't believe she'd actually gotten pregnant! Then again, she was exactly being careful. ohno:

It's not like I go around judging everybody. It's not like I can't possibly understand how difficult it is for them. You don't have to be a pregnant teenager TO understand it. But don't jump down my throat for something you did.

We didn't have anything like that but we did have an In School Suspension. Those students were seperated from the rest of the student building and put in an isolated classroom.

Having something like that set up within the school must've been harder on the students. At least with the alternative school, they were with several hundred other students from both of the high schools, ya know?

Well I made it.. I got a half hour of sleep the night before my flight, so needless to say I was tired and slept throughout the day.

So I was supposed to have about an hour layover in Denver, but of course our flight has to be delayed for "fuel balancing" out of Austin. So my hour layover was flushed down the toilet, and I have 20 MINUTES to run to my flight in the biggest airport in the world. Luckily, it was in the same terminal I landed at. I had to run from gate 67 to gate 23 (lengthy distance). Turns out I really had plenty of time..but I was still sweatin' and was all worried I'd miss the flight.

Argh...same with me...My flight from Detroit to Minneapolis left 20 minutes late (so they would make sure the latecomers to the Detroit/Minneapolis flight would make their plane  ), so by the time we finally touched down in Minneapolis, we had only 30 minutes to make our next flight and of course it was in another part of the airport! :cuss: It's quite something to see 3 sleep-deprived adults with carry-on backpacks running to make their next flight...:o

I never took the train. I took the bus both ways. From South Terminal to North and back to South on the way back to the states. I forgot that they drive on the left side of the road in England. And the driver drove so fast. Holy hell was I scared. Then when we flew out of the airport, it was awesome to see the highways and seeing everyone drive on the wrong side of the road. All over Europe and the US, they drive on the right. Oh well, England has always been a little odd....being an island and all. :D

We get a lot of cars passing through here but not many trucks. And late at night their is hardly anyone on the road. The traffic lights are even turned to flashing lights after 11pm. I wonder if they're going to do that tonight?

And it's SO weird seeing the steering wheel on the RIGHT side.

When we got to Victoria Station via Gatwick Express (when we came in), we had a taxi take us to our hotel. It was freaky as hell because the guy drove so fast, and when he parallel parked (on the left side), he hit the curb.

I don't think I'd like to live by an interstate.

Yep, good 'ole flashing lights. I know what you're talking about. ;)

They're selling a DVD of "Yes, Dear" with two episodes - one of which she was in that I don't have, and that nobody will give me a copy of, because they keep telling me to get the DVD. I DON'T WANT THE OTHER EPISODE! I WANT JUST THAT ONE EPISODE! How hard is it to understand that??

AHHHHH AHHHHH AHHHHHH

Up for auction is the original Vicki Lawrence interview from her May 23, 1994 with Reba McEntire and Linda Davis. The show is Approximately 1 hour long and has live performances from both artists. This tape is in VHS form and was purchase directly from The Vicki Show, it is not taped from the television and has no commercials. This tape is an original and the show is no longer on the air.

oooohhhhhhh oohhhhhhhh I gotta have it!

I like hundreds of shows. Do you know how much money that would cost?
It is good on the other hand that people finally get to see these shows uncut. I wish their was a tv channel like TCM which instead of showing uncut classic movies would show uncut classic tv shows and with no commercials.

I wonder how much it would cost if Dallas or Knots Landing went on DVD? Dallas had 357 episodes and Knots had 344. I'd also want the reunion movies of course.

Awww, hey you two!

Tonight had me working a late shift, so that's why I wasn't around. Also, I spoke to my great-aunt earlier and that was...an emotional phone call, to say the least. Just didn't feel too good afterwards. :( BUT, I look forward to seeing y'all later tonight.

Allison, congratulations on your book. :woohoo:

Sonny, that accident must've been pretty serious. I'm sorry to hear about it. :( On a lighter note, I love your pictures.

AND, since I never replied to it night before last: About those two boys on the reservation.. that is awful. To know that it's common makes it all the more sad. ohno: :(
