Mark and Vanessa's relationship lacked chemistry. There was something about both of them that seemed too one dimensional to imagine either of them in a serious relationship with anyone. Mark was a stand up comedian and it showed. Holly Robinson is hardly the world's greatest actress. I think hitching them up was a stunt to keep the show on the air for another season to get more $$$ from syndication.
Nevertheless, this show is funny and totally devoid of any kind of drama. If I recall there is only one very special episode; the one where Earvin dates the gang member's girlfriend and she gets killed.

Mark and Vanessa was definately a force relationship! No chemistry.

I agree! I thought it was so weird that they ended up together. That should have never happened.

In the end, I think they realized it was a farfetched idea, because if you notice they never actually showed the wedding in the last episode. I liked the finale though. Omar Gooding was very funny in that one, being chased around the restaurant by all the women. He has become a pretty big star and he kind of came into his own on this show.
The show ended the same way it began, with Mark Curry breaking character and addressing the audience. Good show. It didn't take itself too seriously.:)

I guess it was just me, but I liked Vanessa and Mark together. I liked how they hinted at it in season 1 and then actually paired them up later in the series.

Yeah, the relationship couldve worked, but it didnt.
also, Vanessa (Holly Robinson - Peete) was having her first child at that time.
