As a member of PETA, I would have to say that I am outraged at the abuse animals are put through for medical research. Mice, rabbits, and other small creatures are put through torture as test subjects for medications. Most of these medications don’t even make it past the laboratory. Why? Because it kills the animals and the scientists figure that it will do the same to humans. But why is it necessary to test on the animals? They have the same right to life as humans do. In the case of the young girl with cancer, I don’t believe that the medication would be a wise choice. Yes, it may eventually save her life, but it could also fail. The animals would then face unnecessary suffering for no real reason. The best way to efficiently test this medication, as irrational as it may sound, is to test on a human.
