'Jim' heading to 8 Tribune outlets
Buena Vista deal cements laffer in top markets

NEW YORK -- Tribune, which lost "Everybody Loves Raymond" to Fox, has gained "According to Jim."
Deal with distributor Buena Vista encompasses eight Tribune stations in the top markets, which were made available first.

WPIX/New York, KTLA/Los Angeles, WGN/Chicago, WPHL/Philadelphia, WLVI/Boston, KDAF/Dallas, WATL/Atlanta and KHWB/Houston stations have committed to the ABC laffer for fall 2006.

Split will be 5½ minutes to the station and 1½ to the distrib.

Buena Vista sold reruns of "My Wife & Kids" to Tribune last year for a Fall 2005 start. Buena Vista will be looking to sell "8 Simple Rules..." next year.

Cable deal done! Jim comes to TBS in Fall 2009!

TBS has nabbed the cable rerun rights to ABC's comedy series "According to Jim," which stars James Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith as a married couple with three kids.

A spokesperson for TBS confirmed Friday that the cable network has acquired "Jim" from Disney-owned distributor Buena Vista Television and will begin airing the sitcom in 2009 as part of its afternoon lineup.

Sources said TBS will shell out roughly $250,000-$300,000 per episode. TBS and Buena Vista declined comment on the deal late Friday.

"Jim" debuted on ABC in 2001 and has been a solid performer for the network.

In Sacramento, KQCA-TV My58 will have According to Jim weeknights at 6 PM statring September 18th. Also In Fresno, KMPH-TV FOX 26 will start to air According at 5 PM and in San Luis Obispo, KKFX-TV FOX 11 will air the show.

Pav, can you tell me why lately KTLA (Los Angeles) has not aired ATJ at it's scheduled time at 7pm? The information guide shows ATJ, BUT!! they show Everybody Loves Raymond instead!!!!
