Hi, I'm new to this board. What's this show about?

I heard about this show because I found that one of my favorite actresses Jodie Sweetin was on this show when she was 4 years old. Back then the show was called "Valerie"
Why did they change the name?

Is this more a kids show or an adult show? Just wanna know what it's about.

Because one of the main characters, actress who played a main character was fired from the show. Valarie Harper played the mother on the show and the show fired her from the show, and got Sandy Duncan to come in as the Fathers sister the Kids Aunt, so since they fired Valarie Harper, they could no longer keep her name in the title so they changed the name to the last name of the family which happen to be Hogan That is how the new name came about called Hogans Family.
