They were both there. . . I wonder if they bumped into each other by chance. . . .

Perhaps. They both are still on friendly terms, though they may have lost touch with each other since Valerie's firing from the show. But even during that debacle, Jason publicly defended Valerie, saying he missed her and that she was like a second mother to him, and all the while his show was sueing her for having supposedly quit the series (which turned out not to be true).

Also, when I saw Valerie in person while she was doing her book tour, I suggested to her that she guest-star on Jason's then new show, Some of My Best Friends, perhaps as his mother, and she was all for it, except she didn't think it was likely to happen. Oddly enough, news of the show's cancellation came about 3 weeks later. Perhaps she had the inside scoop on this.

Either way, they may or may not have run into each other, but I maintain that they still have a good rapport with each other.
