Besides Kodak and Aunt Jemima, what other companies sponsored this show???

Hotpoint, Coca Cola, Listerine... they showed the kitchen so much to show-off the appliances, even were supposed to drink Coke for breakfast until Ozzie refused saying nobody did that.

If they were shown drinking a lot of Coke for breakfast, the next sponsor would probably have to be a dentist.

...on radio: International Silver Co. (1944-'49), H.J. Heinz Co. (1949-'52), Lambert Pharmacal Co. {Listerine} (1952-'54). Yes, they continued to appear on radio even after the TV show began, for two more seasons!

...on TV: Lambert Pharmacal {Listerine} and General Electric {Hotpoint division} as alternate sponsors, 1952-'56, also Norwich Pharmacal Co., 1955-'56; Eastman Kodak Co. (1956-'61); The Coca-Cola Co. (1960-'63?), Quaker Oats Co. {Aunt Jemima mixes & syrup, etc.} (1961-'64?), American Gas Association (1964-'65), and participating sponsors.....unsure of exact sponsorship formula for the final seasons at this time. This was the time sponsors "bought" shows and time periods to showcase their product(s). This practice began to fade by the mid-'60s, when TV networks gained more control of their schedules than the advertisers..and ad rates were forcing them to limit themselves to "particpating" sponsorship (one minute or so during each program).

As Ozzie wrote in his autobiography, he would "go along" with his sponsors on showcasing Hotpoint appliances in the kitchen, and some bathroom sequences for Listerine, and carrying a Kodak camera around his neck from time to time, "pausing to refresh" from a very familiar bottle in some scenes, and more breakfast sequences (as "BEWITCHED" did for the same sponsor) to accomodate Quaker Oats, but "Coke for breakfast" was a suggestion he would NOT tolerate...and rightfully so.

...it was the American DAIRY Association [not "GAS"] that co-sponsored the series in the 1964-'65 season (and possibly the season before).

Some of the tapes I've bought have the original commercials included. PBS ran some Christmas episodes back in the 90's with the commercials intact. I recall one with Coca-Cola, another had Quaker Oats, one also worked Kodak into the holiday theme. I think I might have one with Aunt Jemima, too. You know what would go really good with that Coke? Some tutti-frutti ice cream!

I have some episodes with commercials showing the New York World's Fair (1964-1965) and how gas provided the fuel for air-conditioning and cooking. Ozzie and Harriet are in at least one of those commercials and Jinx Falkenburg is in a couple.

Ozzie and Harriet are in at least one of those commercials and Jinx Falkenburg is in a couple.I saw that commercial a couple times, when PBS showed a christmas episode of the show. It brought back a lot of memories, because I went to the New York Worlds Fair in 1965, when I was 8.

Haven't seen those episodes. Something else for me to hunt for now! Wish PBS would air those Christmas shows again. The two I saw were "The Girl at the Emporium" and "Late Christmas Gift".

I really love it when I get an episode with the original commercials. It's a nice bonus IMO.

I can't remember which episode or season, but there's one commercial with Ozzie and Harriet serving milk at a party that Rick and/or Dave is throwing. I'm not sure if this was with an episode of Ozzie and Harriet, but another commericial for milk shows ladies in a beauty salon drinking milk.

Yeah, it's cool to see the shows the way they were originally broadcast. A couple of them contain "plugs" for a movie Dave was in, and Rick's album "Songs By Ricky". Ozzie talks about Easter Seals in another one.

...there WAS a period in the early '60s when the series had the AMERICAN DAIRY ASSOCIATION as its "alternate sponsor", too! They still push "milk" most of the time, you know....and what better people to "shill" for it than the Nelson Family???
